Following up on their first fruitful collaboration from 2019 yielding the „Push It To The Limit“ fruit, QO & Trilo have teamed up again in the studio to deliver a worthy successor.

Kicking things off with an electrifying intro full of pulsating pads and vicious riffs, you can already feel things are gonna get nasty as soon as the massive kick drums make their way into the mix. But it’s very much like knowing something is out there waiting for you. What good does it really make when you don’t know when and what is actually gonna strike you, right? And as much as you were expecting it and trying to prepare for it, you couldn’t have get yourself ready to face such a face-melting beast of a drop that jumps at you here.

Dirty menacing bassline, militant drums and all kinds of foul growls are the name of the game here. And if that already wasn’t enough for you and you would somehow miraculously make it through the first attack, just you wait for it to come back at you again.

This beast is hungry and it’s not gonna give up, so you just might as well „Turn It Up“!

Drum & bass stalwarts Black Sun Empire are to follow up a trio of recent EPs from The Upbeats, Neonlight and Pythius with the release of ‘Until The World Ends’ - a five-track, collaborative EP with NZ duo State Of Mind. To be released on January 26th via their genre-defining Blackout imprint, it marks an exciting start to 2015.

Lead track ‘Ego’ immediately sets the tone with growling bass lines and punchy synth-stabs that underpin dark, techy atmospherics and vocal loops.

Second track ‘Until The World Ends’ proves once again both acts’ enduring versatility - kicking off with a bass-heavy dubstep tones complimented by vocal duties from State Of Mind’s fellow New Zealander PNC, before

switching to a manic, intelligently structured groove for the remainder.

‘Bad’ opens with progressive percussion and softly-worked synths that move euphorically to a pounding drum break, whilst fourth track ‘Jack Nicholson’, featuring an imitable sample of the man himself, is a bass-fuelled shockwave of a track. Final track.

‘Moonbox’ closes the EP in true Blackout fashion, with signature frenetic beats and firing drums rounding off proceedings in style.

Black Sun Empire have built a reputation for curating their own brand of dark, neurofunk-inspired drum & bass over the past 12 months and this collaboration with long term accomplices State Of Mind - whom released their latest album ‘Eat The Rich’ via the label earlier this year - feeds into the hype surrounding Blackout as the label looks ahead to 2015.

Standing for five years of innovation, the ‘Go Nen’ LP from Santoku represents half a decade spent by its label head crafting its most innovative releases. And alongside another game changing compilation, Logam has offered up fourteen brand new records which will signify why they’ve become such a revered icon within drum & bass, from the UK to the US. Sequential’s ‘Mass Transfer’ alludes to the contemporary digital era drum & bass has found itself developing in whilst Symplex & Camel jump on board for the understated yet melodic ‘Twilight’. Celebrated American newcomer ‘Des McMahon also makes an appearance with a switch up of ‘Dopamine’, presenting a carefully packaged VIP and Kodin adds his tearaway track ‘Valetudinarian’. Todd Buchler, Pish Posh & HammerZz add their sonic delivery ‘Fuego’, which plays to its namesake with hard-hitting drum patterns and crafted hooks. Then for the last exclusive, you’re introduced to Logam & Roger’s ‘Emrys’, the perfect manifestation of what Logam inherited with Santoku’s legacy.

This LP will sit pride of place within the label’s history and they continue to push the boundaries with every release. The ‘Go Nen’ compilation clearly shows that, creating a dynamic and versatile track listing which will further define the imprint’s worth within a colossal dance music market.
