This was birthed from the shared base of two previous demos/unfinished tracks I'd uploaded earlier called "Holofon" and "Longest". IMWA is another moniker of mine that I wanted to get off the ground before the end of January but was not nearly ready to put together anything worth a normal LP or EP release. 

Mostly over a 72 hour period of time, I arranged this track. Weeksheh (who has an account here) provided the guitar bits (both the ambient ones in the intro and the ending wankery) along with much of the first drone's melody, which I processed to hell.

It's nothing groundbreaking and those tracks were never not going to be Stars of the Lid or Basinski-esque, but I felt that I could make something serviceable enough as a debut for this name with them. I hope you enjoy it. There's a lot more (far more original) material to come.

Powernap is my primary moniker. I have been making music since 2005 and I mostly focus on the Ambient Techno, IDM, Dark Ambient, Industrial and EBM genres. Some of my larger influences include The Future Sound of London/Amorphous Androgynous, Boards of Canada, Nine Inch Nails, Throbbing Gristle and Telefon Tel Aviv. That said, genres are pretty stupid and I'm probably influenced by something else every single day.

I feel music should have merit and variation to it just as much as it should sound good. I also believe that artists who write bios about their band where they incessantly use egotistical adjectives that don't apply to show the world just how much unwarranted self-importance they have are pretentious dickheads (i.e "x uses nostalgic and wonderfully crafted audio aesthetics to create a cohesive, brilliant soundscape reminiscent of childhood and spoiled milk").
