Warm relaxing energy and chilled atmosphere

Introduction in English:
A few years ago, one of my best friends almost died as a result of his alcohol addiction. One autumn day, almost exactly 20 years ago, I wanted to visit him in his small Berlin apartment, because I had not been able to reach him by phone for days and he did not respond to my mails. I was very worried about him. 
Since the door was open, I was able to get into his apartment, which was completely devastated and partly badly damaged. 
As I heard later, he had gone completely crazy after a repeated alcoholic excess. Neighbors had called the police, who then took him to the closed psychiatric ward. 
This low point in his life also meant a decisive turning point for him. Since that day, he has remained sober and has not touched a drop of alcohol. 
During one of our musical jam sessions this year, he asked me to write a song that would help him to better understand this time of self-destruction and to integrate it more into his life story. 
The result is this song "Naked".....

Nackt (Naked)

Introduction in English:

A few years ago, there was a young man living in my neighborhood who had just been abandoned by his wife. He would often come over to me and cry to me about his supposedly evil and inconsiderate wife. Increasingly, he got on my nerves with his self-pitying "I'm the victim" whining. 
At some point, during one of our conversations, he came to the conclusion that he had actually wanted the separation himself for a long time, but was simply too comfortable and cowardly to make the cut. Slowly, it seemed to him that he was letting his wife do the "dirty work" so that he could rant about her afterwards and blame her for the relationship's misery. 
Not an isolated case, but among men (....and I don't exclude myself) still too much the rule when it comes to working up the responsibilities for the failure of a relationship.
Thef following song is an attempt to take the self-pity of some men in a occasionally very self-deprecating way on the grain....

Introduction in English:
Since childhood, I have always enjoyed spending time in nature and especially in the woods. Often no one knew exactly where I was. I told my mother that I was in "Transylvania". Then she knew not to ask. 
At my secret nature places I always found a deep security and a protection from the everyday demands which threatened to overrun me from time to time. 
This is basically true to this day. 
I find it all the more painful that many forests in which I used to find so much peace and harmony no longer exist today or are threatened with extinction. 
I try to give this pain a musical expression with the song "Mother Earth". 
The cover for the song this time comes from the Polish artist Renata Golab.

Mutter Erde (Mother Earth)

Introduction in English:
Over 30 years ago, I did a six-week hitchhiking trip in Ireland. Right at the beginning of the tour I met Ian and we hitchhiked through the beautiful Emerald Isle. 
We quickly discovered that we were both stuck in completely hopeless love affairs. He in London and me in Berlin. Both of us didn't want to admit it for a long time. Now, after countless attempts to save our relationship, we had fled to Ireland. 
I described my rescue efforts as a "Himmelfahrtskommando“. But there is no real equivalent for this German pun in English. The closest thing is "Suicide Mission". And so we came to call our community of fate "Suicide-Himmelfahrt-Mission". 
After this unforgettable tramp journey we always stayed in contact with each other. 
Until earlier this year, Ian's mother informed me that he had died unexpectedly of a heart attack. 
Accordingly, I dedicate this song to my friend Ian, who passed away much too soon. 
In the first part I sing the chorus in German. In the second part I imagine how the almost always cheerful jazz friend Ian would have sung the verses and the chorus. And in the third part, I imagine how the two of us would have sung the chorus together.
