Pendant les périodes d’incertitude je trouve refuge dans ce qu’ont à m’offrir les paysages de mes déambulations.

Il y a toujours moyen d’aborder un déplacement différemment. Bientôt les images qui découlent de ces dérives s’accompagnent de texte, de son. La frontière entre la documentation et le récit est floue. Il y a quelque chose d’intime dans ces images car je suis solitaire dans ces flâneries ; je m’accroche à la matière créée en ces instants capturés et je les déconstruit pour mieux les voir.

Une image raconte une histoire ; en lui ajoutant texte, son, en la plaçant dans un contexte nouveau, en la diffusant de telle ou telle manière, elle en raconte une autre - elle n’est plus qu’une image, elle n’est pas non plus un film. Ce qu’elle montre est dans un entre-deux, dans une temporalité spécifique, et la manière dont elle est montrée l’est également.

'soundtrack to a damaged car' was the soundtrack to the Garlaicība/Long Time exhibition by William Jones, which happened from the 24.07 til 28.07 in PLienciems (Latvia).

During periods of uncertainty, I seek refuge in what the landscapes of my wanderings have to offer.

I hang on to the matter created in these split seconds, and I deconstruct them to see them better.

A picture tells a story; by adding text and/or sound to it, by placing it in a new context, by showing it in this or that way, it tells another tale. What it shows is something in-between, in a specific time and space continuum, and the way it is showed is also to be considered that way.
