Hailing from San Francisco and based in Berlin, she quickly became a fixture of the German capital’s scene as well as building a vast network of underground communities across Europe and internationally. She's centered her craft in the studio and behind the decks on the art of contrast - grimy industrial edge with meditative, consciousness-expanding dream worlds with no-holds-barred runaway energy. Jamaica’s voice always finds a timeless balance between the rawness of 90's techno traditions and boundary-pushing modern techniques.

Alex Levin has been a nightlife scene mainstay with a reputation built by his always dynamic, hypnotic, and driving sets, being both a resident of the notorious queer PAG party, and a regular behind the decks of the most prominent clubs in Tel Aviv, before relocating to Berlin in 2019. Since then, he has reestablished himself across the flourishing local scene by maintaining the underground agenda of his sound and set dynamics. Thanks to various appearances including Berghain's Klubnacht, and bi-annual party SNAX among others, Levin got the stages to showcase his musical repertoire and careful selection.

Born and raised in Germany up to the age of 13 before being uprooted and moved to the UK, Stephanie Sykes credits her Midlands coming of age with having instilled a deep love of electronic music in her. As well as making life-long friends in her northern milieu, it also pushed her to experiment more, and with this her creative passion quickly set her up as one of the UK’s most alluring talents. Fast-forward to today and for over a decade, she’s jumped from venue to venue with a highly developed personal sound that captivates in its 4/4 mastery. This rumbling techno has landed her a residency at Berlin staple Tresor, and gigs at a standard-issue list of big name venues in all four hemispheres. in case that didn’t suffice, she’s also got a growing number of releases to her name on publishers like BPitch, VENT, ://about blank and Tommy Four Seven’s 47 imprint. It’s techno with a simple mission, making people move. But don’t take anyone’s word for it, it’s best felt personally, and on a monster soundsystem if you can find it. Bassiani Podcast 213 is straight up techno, phlegmatically cool and tenacious in its course, an hour of swinging kick-drums and rubbery beats matched and mixed to perfection. A healthy measure of emancipating rhythms, signature Sykes through and through.

Chami and OPH are a part-time double act with roots in Lyon and a more recent base in Berlin. Fully integrated in their local scene, the pair have expanded their love of records to furtive raves on the outskirts of town (Minijob). Under the moniker Face 2 Face they play very literally one in front of the other, with a four turntable, two mixer set up, dogged passion and a little faith that kismet will devise whatever sound it may. A mirror framework that cultivates subconscious dialogue between the two and their crowd by extension  Together they proffer a world that’s as stimulating as it is fast-paced; it’s deep, repetitive, ritualistic techno with a magnetic pull that’s hard to deny, at once cerebral and groovy. This twin flame has lit up floors from Paris’ La Station to Tokyo’s Womb, with a Bassiani performance back in October. Here, for a very special Bassiani Podcast 215, the duo band together once more and tell a 90 minute tale that twists and turns in unexpected ways, one that’s every bit the raw and potent sound they’re known for. Formidable techno that’s quick as a flash and doesn’t waste a second messing around.

From London’s inner suburbs comes this next guest, a through and through veteran of UK techno whose touch has left a lasting mark on the world around him. Steve Bicknell’s early days were spent in the intoxicating worlds of dub, reggae, acid, DIY warehouse parties and pirate radio, an auspicious mix of references that would inspire him to make music of his own. After a string of residencies at the UK’s then most influential parties, he launched his own series with creative collaborator Sheree Rashit: LOST. These legendary gatherings brought together names like Plaid, Jeff Mills, Juan Atkins, Robert Leiner, Basic Channel, and a wider array of future techno hegemons. This was swiftly succeeded with the duo’s launch of imprint Cosmic Records, whose triumph went on to spawn another three successors: LOST (early provider of Bicknell’s dancefloor sounds), Clubtracks (for Chicago-leaning fare) and ID(entity) (a channel for the work of well established music-makers who wanted to release under a secret alias). A nine-year pause in productions came to a halt in the mid 2010s with Steve’s most recent label, 6dimensions, an exploration in sound and the whole spectrum of human emotion. Finally, 2017 saw Steve team up with Luke Slater and David Sumner under the LSD sobriquet, a force for the creation of ‘lysergic machine music’, heavily danceable stuff (just ask ADE, Dekmantel, Awakenings). With a story as full and enduring as Steve’s there’s much to pull from, and only experience in the flesh could attest to the depth and scope of his musical evolution, but it’s clear that the voice he has honed has only become louder and more refined. It’s a techno that’s fully embodied, a blistering percussive barrage that invokes something profoundly human and fundamental. Bassiani Podcast 217 is just a taste of what Steve has to offer, a window onto a world of sound he’s meticulously crafted for over three decades: masterfully layered and piercing sounds that shimmer and relentlessly rise in lockstep with a formidable 4/4 beat.
