This set was a major one for me. A return to music and to you. My father passed away due to cancer in August and I spent these last weeks with him. In addition to pain and shock, I did not have the strength to play or listen to music during these weeks. This Dj set at WHOLE - United Queer Festival allowed me to see you again, to dance with you, to find myself again as a DJ and to regain the feeling of how good it is to be one.

Thank you Dad for having supported me in my life choices. I measure the fragility of this one and the chance to be free to express myself through music and to celebrate life.

Underspreche first caught our attention back in 2016 with the release of their mini album "Invito Alla Danza" on Optimo Trax, a record that possesses the captivating mixture of ethno vocals & sounds with a raw house dynamic. From there they continued to impress with their unique twist on many prominent House and Techno jams through their Experiments series. We are thrilled to have worked with them to bring you this EP and who better to describe the record than Underspreche themselves...

"We think every kind of art has an important role in our lives because of the magical power it has inside. Positive art can be profound, produce questions, show us new perspectives, transform feelings and connect people telepathically. If this is not magic??!! Taking inspiration from Alejandro Jodorowsky's work we did our own “music act” with this record, trying to ease our inner sorrow through musical poetry and freeing our voice. Inspiration from other cultures always help develop our work which as ever, is fuelled by a deep love for what we do."

Bert Radscho, der Zeremoniemeister des sektgeschwängerten Closings, bringt uns zu diesem Hertzcast ein tiefes synthlastiges Disco-Set. Als fester Kern von Hertzbeben und Wild in der Region e.V. ist er im Dresdner Underground und auf Festivals wie das "Mit Dir" musikalisch und organisatorisch vertreten. Was mit House begann hat sich nun zu einem funky Sound mit 80er Vibe entwickelt, welcher im Fahrstuhl zwischen den Etagen des Disco pendelt. Kalvelage began as a decade-long musical journey through genres, styles, tempi, sounds, collaborations and gigs. Heavily influenced by first encounters of the Berlin techno scene in 2009/2010, Kalvelage brought his fascination for techno to Hamburg where he started to develop his own sound signature within the collective Stützpunkt. He states: „Most techno DJs start out either as producers - fascinated by electronic sounds, or as ravers - fascinated by the power of these sounds on the dance floor. I am most certainly one of the latter".

Really happy to introduce the first female DJ Erzsébet in our podcast series ‚Bassword’. Erzsébet supported us right from the beginning with her unique sound. She puts a lot of heart and effort into her music and sets, which we were able to witness live on the first ‚Electronic Brunch‘. Starting out with playing music in 2018 she already has had gigs at „Kabinett der Kuriositäten“ and Silbergold.

Her musical style is not easily put into one single genre, ranging from disco and old school house influences to darker and deeper sounds. Her self-described happy place in music is the place where the gloomy and the cheesy come together. Right now she is working on producing her own music and already released a Remix called „DNS - Orange Island (Erzsébet's Orange Realness Dance Mix)“. We are more than happy to have her play a special mix for us. Buckle up for a journey. It has it all : deep sounds, trance melodies, cosmic chords embedded in electronic euphoria. In der 18. Ausgabe der techno.show auf coloRadio wird Mila Stern berichten, warum DJs und andere Künstler*innen derzeit einen ziemlich dicken Panzer brauchen. So versuchen wir zu erkunden über was sich Musiker*innen im Jahr 2020 eigentlich noch freuen können und haben es dabei nicht immer einfach. Dabei könnte es selbst in Zeiten der Pandemie irgendwie erträglich sein, wenn wir, wie Mila Stern in der Sendung vorschlägt, über die richtigen Fragen diskutieren würden.
