Collaborating with Darque on the opening track is a significant highlight. Despite the collaboration being unexpected, it yielded the EP's titular track, ‘Kwanele.’ Exte C credits Darque with reinforcing his confidence in Afro House production, a genre Darque excels in. The process was a blissful experience that set the tone for the entire project.

The EP’s title, ‘Kwanele’, meaning "Enough," reflects Exte C’s resolve to no longer hold back his Afro House prowess. It's a declaration of his versatility as an all-round house producer.

Jnr SA brings an Afro twist to 'Migration'

Kid Fonque and Jonny Miller's "Migration" featuring Zaki Ibrahim was already a smooth, introspective track - now Jnr SA steps in with a remix that gives it a fresh flow and unmistakable Afro touch.
Known for his precise blend of Afro tech and three-step, the Rustenburg-born producer strips it back, locks it into a deeper flow, and lets Zaki's vocals breathe over a warm, rolling rhythm. It's a reimagining, not just a rework. One that respects the original soul while layering in Jnr SA's signature production sound.

Atmos Blaq returns to Stay True Sounds with Shimova - a deep, crafted, textured instrumental that reaffirms his place as one of 3-step Afro's most expressive producers. Following standout contributions to the Stay True Sounds catalogue, including well-received Mfana Wase Dobsi and Kwa Mama, Shimova showcases the Soweto-born artist’s signature touch: dark stabs, punchy basslines, emotive strings, and synthwork that feels both atmospheric and floor-focused.

Known for crafting slow-burning sonic journeys, Atmos Blaq lets Shimova unfold patiently, each bar pulling you deeper into its hypnotic drum pulse. It’s a track built for transition moments: a mood-setter that doesn’t demand attention, it earns it. Drawing on his roots in AfroTech and 3-step, Shimova channels a hypnotic energy - neither peak-time nor background, but rather a liminal space that bridges soul and structure.

With support from the likes of Louis Vega, Gilles Peterson (Worldwide FM), and Benji B (BBC Radio 1), Jamz Supernova (BBC Radio 6), Atmos Blaq continues his evolution on Stay True Sounds, refining a sound that feels unmistakably his own. Shimova isn’t just a filler - it’s a foundation.

Tamer ElDerini pays homage to his Egyptian roots with a majestic organic house EP on Baikal Nomads, which also includes downtempo and progressive house remixes by BEBO (EG), Andrew Shartner, and G.O.D.A.

One of Egypt's most accomplished electronic music producers, Tamer ElDerini is a Cairo-based artist. His music combines traditional Middle Eastern instruments with modern electronic sounds. He is making his debut on Baikal Nomads following music on other respected record label such as Sol Selectas, • kosa •, Cosmic Awakenings, and Pipe & Pochet.

Complementing the two original tracks are three remixes. The first rework is by BEBO (EG), who is an Egyptian artist making music that's a cultural tapestry. Taking the tribal percussion of Afro house, he mixes in Middle Eastern melodies from his own heritage, and fuses them with electronic sounds. His tracks and remixes can be heard on the likes of Cafe De Anatolia and Shango Records.

Based in Western Siberia, Andrew Shartner is a Baikal Nomads regular, whose style is inspired by nature and its striking landscapes.

G.O.D.A. is another Egyptian artist, and he is an ambassador for Egypt's underground scene. He has played DJ sets all over the world, and his storytelling style has garnered an international fanbase. His organic style of progressive house has been released by prestigious record labels such as 3rd Avenue.

The title track, "Desert Voice," opens the release with a throbbing bass synth, laying a foundation for the enchanting melodies of Middle Eastern strings. "Dana Dana" is second of the original tracks, and its tranquil pads, Arabic vocals, and delicate piano melodies, intertwine with flowing percussion. BEBO (EG)'s remix of "Dana Dana" adds extra percussion and an arpeggio bassline, which brings an Afro house groove to the original's string melodies. Andrew Shartner delivers a downtempo remix of "Dana Dana," which strips out the strings to focus on trippy guitar chords. G.O.D.A. closes the release with a progressive house remix of "Desert Voice” that utilises a new melody and melodic pads.
