After 2018's three-part debut compilation Altogether and 2019's Transitions a charity project was the next logical step and so we're proud to finally be releasing this. With lockdown slowly ending in parts of the world but remaining in place elsewhere due to the disparity in vaccines available the compilation aims to give back to the world that has given us so much while once again spotlighting amazing talent around it in unison.

At 30 tracks (with two bonus instrumentals), Stay Home features lo-fi hip hop, dark R&B, house, baile trap and UKG from the likes of Mecca:83, Vhsceral, Ella Mae and opens with "Mad World", an emotive intro from MI.HARU and GREGarious that explores the complexities of the world we live in as we simultaneously hold pain, beauty, and serenity within ourselves. Poignant given the challenging cirumstances this pandemic has put each of us in.

The 24-track project features some of the most exciting prospects in garage, UKG, trap, house and hip-hop, including Slom, Robotaki, Mecca:83, west1ne, More//Night, KEI-LI, Blue Canariñho, AJMW, ElMari and more. 

Titled Transitions, the project takes its name and direction from the growing pains we feel as individuals and collectives. Through social media ideas that success is dependant on likes or follows and clout is the only currency of value are reinforced in our minds daily, making comparisons unavoidable, stealing our joy and robbing us of our victories. Reach and impressions driving depression. 

Regardless, what matters is we’re all running our own races. Though the directions and destinations may be different if we really support our network around us these things don’t matter - whether you’re moving up, down, left, right, forward or backwards through maintaining those bonds that drive us to push further and reach higher we can always ensure that we, not you or me, but we, collectively, transition to the next level of success and self. 

Concepted by Stay Cool founder seangran and illustrated by James Neilson, the vivid artwork channels the London roots of UKG and the label and incorporates our legendary transit system the tube alongside three London based artists from the project to make the title all the more meaningful.

It describes the compilation bringing together many of the different sounds and artists purveyed on the show, how quickly we’ve been able to grow in our short time on air as a result of the genuine relationships we’ve built through music and finally describes the ability of seangran and his pals to get through their own personal trials and tribulations thanks to the power of music and the strength of their real friendships. 

Thus despite being a free download it does come with one request: that you take some time out when listening to consider the people that have supported you and made you who you are today. Maybe even reach out to one you haven’t heard from in a while and just say “Hey”. Hard times can be difficult but if we help carry the weight of things that have been holding down those that we love it makes those times easier and our bonds stronger. For Show 059 @seangran asked fans of the show to send me songs that inspire them to protest and persevere in times of unrest and took donations when mixing them live, with all proceeds going towards BLM causes. This is a cleaned up version of that original stream, titled Sound Over Silence, is a direct challenge to the numerous White and non-Black platform owners that chose to mute themselves for a week. Their silence does not amplify Black voices.
