Within the span of a year, Tallinn-based club night series and creative collective Shelter has managed to rally dozens of electronic musicians from all corners of the world to an unexpected meeting point by the Baltic Sea. By curating club nights that showcase local talents aside some of the brightest minds in electronic music today, Shelter has undeniably played a significant role in revitalizing Tallinn’s club scene.

More importantly, Shelter uses its platform to shed light on some of the worst humanitarian crises currently plaguing our planet. Beyond covering event costs, ticket sales proceeds from Shelter Showcase events have been directed to organizations who provide resources to those in need, including the Ottawa Black Diaspora Coalition in Ukraine and the Rebuilding Alliance in Palestine.

To celebrate 1 year of building bridges between communities and incubating forward-thinking electronic music, Shelter presents Feyrûse: a compilation album featuring 17 tracks by an intercontinental melting pot of musicians, majority of whom have graced the dancefloors of Shelter.

Feyrûse aims to capture increasing unity within the global electronic music community. The musical styles represented on the album are as varied as its diverse cast of artists, ranging from purpose-built hybrid club to serene and blissful melodic rituals.

HP: 925 MP: 463’s ‘Cholo Tearz’ is an exercise in laser-guided club cybernetics. It finds itself deep in enemy territory, navigating fog-choked gridzones with calculated precision. And it pulls up strapped: drop the weaponised shock-n-awe dembow guitars on ‘Mf Nu - Metal’ and watch your pulse race and fight-or-flight kick in. It’s caged danger, harnessed and contained in a dancefloor-pulverising forcefield.

A stacked inventory within. The dual wield of ‘Fast Life’ and ‘Thug Pro Infinite’ mesh spring-loaded, exoskeletal drums with biomechanical synth melodics — not a wasted sound, pure economy of movement like a swarm of spectral Boston Dynamics mobile bots forging towards an acquired target. But it’s not all red dots and night vision: ‘Rural Song’ and ‘Clown Riddim’ betray the organic impulse at the heart of the machine. This machine breathes. This machine feels. And it’s strength, not flaw.

Shelter proudly presents: Mizgîn, a leviathan compilation of 18 tracks by 21 artists presiding on the cutting edge of electronic music. 

As we find ourselves in the eye of the storm during the most deteriorated epoch in modern history, Mizgîn, meaning "good news" in Kurdish, was motivated by the desire to offer respite from the horrors of the world. Shelter's ambition to unite different regional music scenes has once again brought together artists from nearly every continent, with contributions from legendary names.

This compilation is dedicated to everyone struggling towards the liberation of the oppressed.

Mizgîn releases on 17.05.2024 on all streaming platforms.

'Satura' was crafted around Cuban-German artist Réelle's emotional struggles with their diagnosed schizophrenia, examining its interplay with gender-fluidity, LGBT freedom, and experimental sound design & composition. Réelle images 'Satura' as a "short form of saturation, as some sort of state of constant over saturation in every way imaginable, physically and mentally." -Réelle

The album's sonic palette permeates a cataclysmic, frantic, post-club environment, aesthetically gelling along the lines of Arca, Rabit, Lotic, and Aphex Twin's ambient works.

However, I put the concept of acceptance, or rather, the stage of response to the inevitable, in the names of the tracks themselves. There are all 5 of them, but as for me the most significant are:”wrath”, “dejection” and “acceptance”."
