My original vibe for this song was a medium blue, but when Mitch started laying down his slide and lead parts it really started to shine brighter. He’s a great musician; he listens to my tracks and then he’s able to just get into it. Maybe it’s because we’ve been playing together for over 30 years. 

He also creates space within the space that’s there in the song for him. He understands melody and creates this counterpoint sound that is very much like a song in a song. If you listen close, there’s a thread to what he plays from the beginning right through to the end; especially his solos. I don’t know if anyone listens to songs that closely anymore, but I do. Especially with headphones.

And that’s why I’m happy to call him my friend and the only other official member of The Buddha Rats.

Tony H makes his return to the label and this time, he’s collaborated with Deefo, out of Jakarta, Indonesia for ‘It’s Breaking Up’. It being their first collaboration, they wanted to create a solid 4x4 track with catchy instrumentals, memorable melodies and vocal chops that represents a global dance scene.
