BIO

Giannis Michelinakis a.k.a LegoBoy began his musical journey as a member of Cosmic Sound. Cosmic Sound were created during the summer of 1999. The band was completed by Giannis Michelinakis (Lego boy) and Manos Stamatakis (Isaak). Up until then they were both leading their individual paths through parties and radio shows.
Their first live appearances were in 1994 & 1995, up to 1999 were their paths crossed over. The basic concept for creating this team was to present something more than a simple dj set. They began to organise parties with the support of various djs and producers, while they paid extra attention to the aisthetic of the venues they used.
The first appearance as Cosmic Sound took place in 'Pagopoieion' bar which was followed by a series of gigs in may clubs and bars in Creta and Athens. They have participated in many events with great artists as Timewarp inc, John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Savvas (Acropod), George Kyriakoy (Klik records), George Bitsikas, Miss Lefki and many more.
During 2000, they produced and mixed the sound for the theatrical show 'The Giant of the Mountain' of the theatrical team OMMA STUDIO.
The same year Lego Boy began producing music with members of the hip hop band face2face. The result of this collaboration was his first single 'Into your eyes'
Two years after, after he created his home studio, he produced his second single 'Into your eyes part 2', that contained the famous 'deep connection' and 'my club'.
Later on, the same year he founded Downtempo Productions & Promotions, with the basic idea to create music through the collaboration of other producers that share the same vision. His music, from time to time, traveled through experimental and groove house with many electro influences.
In 2006 he created Funk in da house with Dimitris Kefalopoulos a.k.a k_d which defined his turn to more soulful paths.
In 2008 he stood out at the Coca Cola Soundwave Vol.2 with his track 'Dont Cry' (feat Gad). The same year he compiled the compilation 'Down & Dirty' which was released on Timewarp Music.
In 2009 he presented his new project 'Niteshift' with Savvas Karabinos (a.k.a Acropod).
The same year his track 'Life in Space' (life in earth remix) was included in the soundtrack of a very famous ABC series, and was also licensed for a compilation for Sony Music which featured artists like Moby, Groove Armada, Nightmares on Wax, Mo Horizons and more.
In 2010 he participated on the 2nd album of Gad 'The Perfect Crime'.
In June 2010 he releases his ep 'Late at night' at Kraak Records, which was a small teaser for his upcoming personal album 'Black box from your plane' due to be released by Kraak records.

Jared Simms, James Teej & Voytek Korab AKA My Favorite Robot have quietly been positioning themselves as one of Canada’s hottest exports in recent years. Releases on label such as Visionquest, Crosstown Rebels and Sasha’s Last Night on Earth, as well their own eponymously titled imprint, have seen the Robots become central figures in dance music’s ever shifting landscape, whilst their label showcases and guest slots at the likes of BPM, DC10 and Miami’s WMC have left no doubt as to the trio’s talents. With this level of success comes a network of friendships and working relationships and it is to these that My Favorite Robot have turned for the compiling of their debut mix album. Not content with a mix of licensed tracks featuring one or two exclusives, the Toronto three-piece have reached out to their industry friends and have put together a stunning album of entirely exclusive tracks.
 
‘Crossing Wires 001’ takes both its title and its inspiration from the broad range of musical styles and sounds that make up its 15 separate parts. The My Favorite Robot ethos has always been firmly rooted in an eclectic approach to music with the label and act bringing through elements of electro, techno, house, nu-disco and electronica. For ‘Crossing Wires’ Simms, Teej and Korab have brought on board a truly diverse selection of artists ranging from techno stalwart Alan Fitzpatrick through to disco aficionados The Revenge and encompassing everything from the mid tempo electro-disco of Jori Hulkkonen to the pulsating techy excellence of Eric Volta. There are obviously highlights in the three tracks which featured on the recent sampler, The Revenge’s ‘Maia’, Timo Maas’ ‘Dancing for my Pleasure’ and James Teej’s ‘I Like to Clip’ but the quality on this mix in no way stops there as the Robots offer up gem after gem of brand new exclusive material. The chugging brilliance of Stefan Z’s ‘Love Tonight’, the subtly uplifting ‘They Wos’ by Inxec & Droog and the intense and hypnotic Nitin & Clayton Steele remix of Fairmont’s ‘Libertine’ all offer wonderfully different elements in a mix that genuinely sees the electronic threads of MFR’s vision woven into a unique audio tapestry. 
 
‘Crossing Wires 001’ is a truly original and inspiring electronic selection that is a testament to its many contributors and its three-headed selector and should keep music lovers happy for the summer months to come. As if that wasn’t enough there is a My Favorite Robot artist album in the pipeline for release on Jonny White’s No.19 Music label in the autumn leaving us with plenty to look forward to from Toronto’s finest.

Summertime is "BBQ Techno" time -  for the third season already, we present a summerly selection of open air guarantor out of our repertoire, tracks from upcoming releases, as well as several exclusives for your outdoor BBQ and dancing pleasure.

From the upcoming releases, we have selected one title from the next Holtoug release called "Noisy Nights". The original was released Denmark-exclusive on the small but fine label Fake Diamond. For our release, Holtoug has developed the more clubbish "Dizzy Days" version, which we will present on this sampler. On the single which will be released in early autumn, you will also find an outstanding Kollektiv Turmstrasse remix.
With "End" we will showcase a very talented artist from Russia called Koett. His submission is an oldschoolish UK-Breatbeat-hommage which will destroy some dancefloors for sure. On top, we are happy to announce one title from Noraj Cue's first release on Connaisseur. This gifted fellow from the Netherlands, who has already provided a title for our Livingroom Techno 3 sampler, delivers  a Connaisseur blueprint track called "Burning Eyes". Deep, touching and full of wonderful melodies.

As exclusives, we kick off the compilation straight away with a lovely indie-electronic song by Raw Verse feat. C.Layne, one the projects of Marco Effe, who will also drop a release on Connaisseur later this year. The second exclusive is the tender "I Don't Want It" by the talented danish duo Mr. Leman & Thomas Dieckmann. Next up is Terje Saether feat. Mari N Petterson from Norway with a wonderful Pop-Techno lullaby called "Good Night". As a special exclusive we are more than happy to present one of the most requested tracks from the Michael Mayer's Resident Advisor podcast from earlier this year. Jobe's "Got Me" was only available on vinyl on a very limited UK pressing so far . On BBQ Techno 3 he will hit the digital market for the first time with this stand-out tune. To round up the selection, as a closing title we chose the stirring "Overflow" by another russian fellow called Freska, guaranteeing a massive goose flesh attack.
