Jenny Hallam is an accomplished songwriter, singer and  pianist who is releasing her début album on the 25th February 2012.

She started writing songs whilst still at school and has performed since the age of 15. She has enlisted the help of LIPA music student, producer and percussionist Chris Hewitt and guitarist Alex Albrow to embellish her intelligent , lyrics and catchy melodies with polished arrangements that herald the arrival of a truly stunning new talent.

Admirers regularly comment on the insights contained within her lyrics which seem at odds with her tender years ranging from the difficulties of adolescence in ‘They Say’  to the reflective relationship commentary of 'Background'. However, she is not so precious that she cannot write songs that cry out for old fashioned chart success  as in the first single from the album ‘Me ,Me ,Me’ and induce the smile in the listener that inevitably accompanies  the first hearing of  such future pop classics as  'BBQ Sauce', 'Summer Song' and 'Struggle to Find'.

Jenny regularly stuns audiences with her powerful, soulful but above all human voice - an oasis of quality in the cultural vacuum of this X Factor  karaoke age. Out now, on digital release, "ROUGH" and "ROUGH OUT", the first full-length release from STEAD, lo-fi, folk, indie music project curated and embodied by the sicilian and London-based singer/songwriter Stefano Antoci D'Agostino. A project born in New York which grew up in the small clubs of Milan, establishing itself as a delicate reality of the german underground music scene before settling in London in 2010. “Rough” synthesizes a long path through the last 4 years of this project's life, in all its shades, and its journeys across europe and all the wonderful musicians who got involved, like the John Parish' collaborator Cesare Basile, Giuliano Dottori, Dave Muldoon, Veivecura, Roberta Cartisano and the cellist Francesco Saverio Gliozzi (Sursum Corda) to mention but a few. An infinite journey that “Rough” retraces through the 8 most significant songs written during this period, together with “Rough Out” (extended version, available exclusively on Bandcamp), that will include 8 more tracks, demos and rarities recorded in due process between Milan, Malmo, Celje, Berlin e London. “Rough” and “Rough Out” release was anticipated in 2011 by the single and music video “Instead”, entirely self-produced, filmed and published by Stefano Antoci D'Agostino. “Repetitive”, the second single taken from Rough, will precede and celebrate the digital release of the album. Repetitive Music Video was filmed in Bricklane, London, in 2011 and is curated by the Apulian film-maker Lino Palena. In the meantime the Stead is working on the successor of “Rough” and a new EP will be released before the end of 2012.

Mastered by Abbey Road Studios engineer Alex Gordon, mixed by Jeff Knowler at Jak Sound, Barnet (London, UK, Oct/2018) and produced by Stefano Antoci D'Agostino and Giuliano Dottori,, "Ucow" is the second full-length release by Stead and it follows the debut "Rough", produced by Cesare Basile and released in 2012. 

Stefano Antoci D'Agostino lives in Deptford, London UK, where, as early childhood music educator, has founded and operates "Frogprince Baby Music", a live-music concept for nurseries, community centres and children under the age of 5. Since 2016 "Time Out" lists Frogprince Baby Music amongst the 15 most interesting activities running, for children under 5, in the capital. 

Ucow: production process, mix and mastering 

A first stage of production was curated by the singer/songwriter himself who recorded, performed and engineered at home (Deptford, London, UK) most vocals, guitars, pianos, drums, percussions, harmonicas, programming and various other instruments. Cello was recorded and engineered in Milan with the help of cellist Francesco Saverio Gliozzi. 

A further stage saw Italian-Canadian producer Giuliano Dottori revising and re-engineering songs at his studios in Milan and Cupramontana (Italy); bass guitar, synths and electronic beats were added and a refining work was carried on guitars, keys, drums and percussions.
