Bad Tomatoes

Two of the greatest electronic music labels of the 90s, Eye Q and Harthouse were instrumental in spreading the sounds of trance, techno, and house to a global audience. I can never thank Sven Väth, Matthias Hoffman, and Heinz Roth enough for their contributions to electronic music through these labels. But I wanted to try and give back in a small way, with a mix that captures everything I love about this special time in dance music history. 

This was a gargantuan task to say the least - a four-hour continuous mix across three distinct movements and a variety of genres, rising in tempo and energy until the face-melting crescendo and bittersweet send-off. Despite the challenge in doing something this big, this was the most fun I've had DJing in a long, long time, and it was quite emotional too, taking me back to a different time in my life when this music and the electronic music scene in general was new, fresh, and exciting.

Steve Eagle, a native of central Connecticut now living in the mountains outside Denver, grew up immersed in disco, industrial, metal, hip hop, and early techno/trance.

Producing as Fabrik Nos since 1999 and DJing since 2002 in Boston, he founded Heavy Industries, one of the internet’s first techno netlabels, and was an early collaborator with Droid Recordings in Los Angeles.

Outside of music, Steve is a devoted animal lover—cats in particular—and an aspiring writer. His DJ mixes are known for their diverse, unfolding journeys that seamlessly blend eras and genres with surgical precision and flow.
