Having released the highly acclaimed Rivers/Tokyo ASMR on Crosstown Rebels last year, Berlin’s Emanuel Satie returns to the label this March with the powerful Personal Liberation EP, showcasing the deep and emotive characteristics that Emanuel brings to his accomplished productions. Tribal-esque percussion leads the way in title track "Personal Liberation", progressing with haunting synths, dramatic keys and a hypnotising vocal. A track that subtly builds throughout, "Keys to Jupiter" is a moody yet blissful cut of electronic excellence, enhanced with divine piano keys. Last up, "Somewhere Else In Time" is a trippy and robotic number with break-beat style percussion and stirring synths.

Gabriel Vezzola touches down on Déepalma with an enslaving melodic-focused two-track release - Be Anything / Trippin Out.

Den Haag based artist Gabriel Vezzola makes his Déepalma debut this April with a stunning duo of emotive dancefloor-ready jams. ‘Be Anything / Trippin Out’ comes with depth and charm, reaching into deeper tones and late-night energy.

‘Be Anything’ opens the release with rolling drums and a gripping bassline melody. Reverberating fills and intricate percussion orbit the track whilst pads and subtle melodies rise in the background. The track’s filtered vocal line and rippling synths add the final touches, tying together the mix with climactic bridges and creative variations.

‘Trippin Out’ completes the release with a show of harmonic mastery. Punchy drums drive the track forward alongside delicate hat grooves and more cleverly reverberated percussive shots whilst an analogue synth lead modulates through different intensities. Hints of Afro House, Melodic Techno and Acid, fusing effortlessly.

Tim Engelhardt's 2020 album 'Idiosynkrasia' felt cinematic in form and orchestral in structure, catalysing deep breaths, reflection and a different way of thinking by way of its genre-bending narrative. Now, some of the long-players most precious and tender moments get reinterpreted by a stellar cast of artists, no doubt with the intimate physicality of dancing bodies in mind. The result is a killer package of three versatile cuts that, while each setting a contrast to their source material, amplify different sides of a feeling Tim's work naturally encapsulated – the flow-state. 

Melodic luminary Rodriguez Jr. reimagines the album's introspective opener 'Attached' as a progressive masterclass of deeply engulfing bass, gently cascading synths and hopeful piano variations, showcasing his one-of-a-kind grasp of subtle euphoria. In andhim's hands, the title-track 'Idiosynkrasia' then gets the b-boy treatment as the duo beef-up the original's breakbeat-driven lowend and flip Tim's idiosyncratic melodies on their head by adding a healthy dose of funk. Last but not least, Sam Shure strips 'Touch the Sky' of its organic feel, expertly rethreading Hannah Noelle's stunning vocals into a pressure-cooker of a club track.
