Made up from loops of audio tape found in charity shops. No idea who the bloke is from Leeds doing the talking but it's old. The main drone was made playing a tiny keyboard through a big amplifier in a massive engine shed.

Dark Inertia - Found Sounds - March 2021

From the 3rd Grate Demo "Pope On a Rope". We had got into very dark thumping looped industrial beats by this time. Lots of dirty samples. Recorded and written on an Amiga I think. Queenie(Mega)Watts at his best.

Grate - Holocaust Rocket II -  12/94

First track from the first IDB Demo "Charnal House". An industrial electronic experimental Death Metal band. Features the marvellous twisted vocal talents of the legend that is Johnny Ogle. I love the fact that Queenie's guitar is just this etherial white noise drifting in and out of a flanged hell in the background and doesn't really reveal itself as a guitar until the end. The guitar is a counterpoint to the brutal vocals. I think my synth playing is quite tasty as well. Can Death Metal be psychedelic? 
Nobody got it at the time. To me it still sounds fresh. 
I forgot about the ending!
I can't find any artwork for this but there is more to come. Recorded in the legendary Academy Studios in Dewsbury where the likes of My Dying Bride, Anathma and Cradel of Filth recorded albums. Engineered by Mags who is a total hero for making this lunacy sound like one entity.
24 track 2 inch analogue tape recording....lovely...
Roland TB303 drum machine, Korg Delta and Roland SH 101 synths running through CV not MIDI and played live on the fly and unsequenced. The guitar was a Shergold Meteor for the equipment anoraks out there.

Industrial Death Benefit  - From Charnal House Demo 21 - 10 - 93 Explicit!

P&D, PAD, Praise and Denigration or even BUD; we never could agree on a name or much else really. 
This was our first demo which was on reflection a bit over long. It was written in a council house on Holmewood Estate in Bradford with the assistance of many herbal Woodbines. At the time this place was officially the "worst residential estate in Europe". It was recorded at Academy Studios in Dewsbury with the omnipresent Mags doing the Engineering.
We were described in one review as "Tripped-out techno-tribal" and I'm happy with that.

Haggis on Vocals and Didg
Mick on Guitar and Vocals
Drew on Guitar and Vocals
...and me on Analogue stuff, vocals and strange noises.
The above could change at any moment depending on the arguing and bickering of which there was much.
The claim to fame: we were nearly successful when one Andy Weatherall heard us and liked us. Unfortunately we fell out terminally shortly after and have barely spoken again in 25 years.
