On 21st September the rising French DJ/producer Simo Cell presents new mini album ‘YES.DJ’ – his first solo record since 2018 – released on his own label TEMƎT. A celebration of dance music culture, each of these heavy-duty, titanium-plated bangers are a tribute to different styles of beats, reinterpreted and suffused with his distinct personality.

The release also comes with a fanzine, which continues the celebration of DJing and dancefloors from a sideways perspective, curating photos taken by Simo of drinks tokens from clubs around the world.

To celebrate the end of 2021 and Spinning Around's first year in action, Highly Minogue has invited some of this year's guests to contribute to a new independent charity compilation. This compilation features new productions from each artist, and all proceeds go directly to Australian First Nations organisations - including Pay The Rent and the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service - causes Highly feels strongly about after the loss of his best friend back in 2014.

Spinning Around is one of Melbourne community radio's most beloved shows, hosted by DJ and producer Highly Minogue. Airing on online radio platform Area 3000, Highly invites guests every week for an interview and a guest mix; uploading his segment for playback on the station's website, Soundcloud and Spotify. Known for his passion for electronic music and his conversational style, the show has accumulated many dedicated listeners tuning in every week.

Banoffee Pies Records, in its eighth year of operating, hit the 20th release milestone in their Original Series. The A side was produced in a special collaboration with local artist SHBL-LBSH who’s vocal works feature across “Kesibt” + “Fasla”. The B side delivers sharp cutting synth lines in “Mawkif” and breakneck low end rumbles in “Hanshoof”. After a series of works on the likes of Naive, Not For Profit and Rhythm Section, Hassan fittingly joins the Berlin based, Bristol born label with more boundless sounds that slice through the fabric of styles that BPR have fostered since inception. New York City based imprint HOMAGE continues to deliver raw and upfront electronic sounds from up and coming talent, the imprint released the debut EP from now hotly tipped artist KETTAMA and most recently released the critically acclaimed debut EP from Will Hofbauer. Here we see the label welcome Dublin, Ireland based artist DART onto its roster, yet another rising talent making waves on his home turf and further afield across the globe.

‘Raided’ opens the release with thunderous swinging drums, twitchy synth sequences, bumpy bass and rave-tinged strings to perfectly set the tone. ‘Only The Strong’ follows next, retaining a similarly rave-tinged aesthetic via a hypnotic synth hook, shuffled percussion and rumbling subs while female vocal hooks flow amongst the sturdy groove.

The two remixes make up the B-Side of the release and X-Coast’s ‘Da Vibe Mix’ is up first, reshaping the original with an uptempo trance-leaning twist courtesy of choppy, filtered synth licks, organic percussion and pulsing low-end bass line. Dixon Avenue Basement Jams regular Big Miz then rounds things out with his take on ‘Only The Strong’, opting for squelchy 303 licks and dusty dynamic drums alongside the originals lead and infectious vocals.
