He opened his eyes slowly and squinted around the room, trying to assess the damage that surrounded him. Sleeping bodies littered the floor surrounded by mounds of empty cans and cigarette ends and glittering decorations hung limply off the doors and walls. He rolled over and dug around for the remote. There was only one thing that could numb his hangover and rapidly increasing feelings of anxiety. The TV flickered on and whales swam across the screen as David Attenborough's calm tones enveloped the room. And breathe... 

London-based label Childsplay are putting the fun back into proceedings. No chin stroking around here please. Run by DJ Cherry B, the label scour the dark corners of the internet to find undiscovered gems and give them a deserved platform. From electro and breaks to acid and jacking house, their offerings are always guaranteed to get you moving, including their forthcoming release from VIGILE which brings all those tasty flavours to the table.

About 'No Face no Case' EP -

Hailing from Sydney Australia, Suspect Raver has seen first hand the effect that tough laws have had on the local nightlife over the past few years.

Although it was dire for most, there was still a resolute band of underground music heads that kept the soundsystems thumping throughout the weekend evenings at determined and unyielding venues as well as via "illegal" raves.

These tracks are a homage to those times and a push for more of the same energy in the future.

Castles' angelic vocal sample drives the listener into a trance, while Run it Straight and Rave to the Rhythm are two unforgiving big room thumpers. Finally Warehouse Mobb uplifts the energy with a melancholic and reflective hook and interview sample from one of hip hops' realists.

Chilled out, rave track, Be Mine is the product of creative improvisation; combining chopped up breaks samples, a growling bassline, a tasty combo of pads, and a dancing synth line. To top it off, a perfectly-fitting, reversed vocal sample ties the project together, resulting in an ideal afters track.

Originally from Northern Ireland, Edinburgh-based Myles Mercer has been into music since day dot. From growing up learning the piano at a young age, and ripping tunes off Limewire and YouTube converter back in the day, Mercer’s taste varies massively from hip-hop to rock to more acoustic stuff. Once able to head to nightclubs, his taste in Dance Music really came to the fore, developing a taste for the industry from frequenting venues such as Cab Vol and Sneaky's 

Myles developed his producing craft while on his year abroad in Italy.  Friend, Giac (Nostalgiac / a hip-hop/ grime producer) showed him the ropes on Logic. From there, the then debutant producer was hooked. 

While the Ross From Friends fan still describes himself as a beginner, his productions have been going from strength to strength, including edits as well as his own sounds. With DJ idols such as Ben UFO, Moxie, Midland and Identified Patient, the Edinburgh-based man had his debut DJ gig last year before being interrupted by the chaos of 2020.

While relatively new to the scene, we are very proud to host this release on the Milkit label and look forward to seeing Mercer’s musical career grow from here.
