Today we premiere a grime influenced house track from Irish producer Son Orbis. The young producer channels deep and wonky minimal vibes on ‘Blem’ and intertwines grime vocals to great effect.

Taking inspiration from 90s trance and early 00’s Dubstep & Breakbeat, Dublin DJ/Producer Jack Fleming aka Son Orbis has been a regular within the cities nightclubs, stemming from his earliest days as a resident at Toast & Paradox.

With releases on Bristol’s Eton Messy Records & Edinburgh’s Milkit Sounds, Jack’s music has seen support come from the likes of Pete Tong, Joris Voorn, Brame & Hamo to name a few.

What you hear is really all you need to know. And what you’ll hear from Son Orbis’ sets and music productions are seamlessly blended bass-heavy frequencies and futuristic percussion driven beats.

Son Orbis provides a deep and off-kilter house cut that is simply made for the dance-floor on ‘Blem’. The track is soaked in classic minimal vibes, but the budding producer knit’s in grimey influences with commanding vocals to great effect. This is fantastic DJ tool for those who like their house with a touch of UK influence.

Sydney club-kid James Pepper has delivered his first instalment of CLUB TRAX, featuring 4 house-heavy originals which are ready and designated for dance floors.

James’ first instalment of Club Trax sees him introduce 4 driving house cuts - full of power, warmth and euphoria, giving us an insight into the inspirations that have surrounded JP’s upbringing within the dance music community. Through using his “less is more” approach, we are enriched by four tracks that are hosted by simple yet effective elements that make up a powerful EP full of club originals, which are suitable to be played on large systems in big dance-halls, as well as within the smaller-scale, intimate environments.

The epitome of James’s introduction to the world of dance music came after he unleashed his club-hit Three Drops during the broadcasting of his debut Boiler Room in his home-town, Sydney. Co-written by Black Loops, James would return to his home away from home and visit his old friend Black Loops (Riccardo) in Berlin, where he would begin writing his Club Trax EP. James would begin the creative process Riccardo’s studio while he was away touring throughout the European summer. James began to fall in love with the studio’s hardware offerings, and in particular - Riccardo’s Roland MC909. The prominent early 2000s groovebox would become the centre piece of production work that makes up the Club Trax EP.

After returning home to Sydney, JP’s first order of business was to purchase a second hand MC909 from Japan, and begin finishing what he has started in Berlin. With tracks Zwarte Pad & Praise You being an ode to the sound he holds dearest, James attempted to recreate the prominent 90s club-record sound, whilst also offering his own input in the process.

The remainder of the EP sees tracks Residential Advisor & EVERYONE I LOVE give us an insight into a more new-school era, potentially alluding us to where James could be heading next - whilst also keeping it true to this heavily referenced 90s sound.

After understanding JPs love for dance music and the influences that got him to where he is today, it will be exciting to hear and see the reactions of this club-record on dance-floors across the world. No frills, just straight forward dance classics & driving house hits, as James Pepper delivers his first instalment of CLUB TRAX VOLUME ONE.

Our latest premiere showcases the return of Presswork from his 18-month production hiatus. Tom McGrath (aka Presswork), has supplied us with a gorgeous deep house flip of Irish duo Cedarwood State Traxs' track 'Come On Out'. Aiming for a more stripped-back approach that focuses on the vocal and saxophone melody throughout while adding some piano and 303 melodies for good measure.

Boasting initial releases on numerous labels like Zone Focus, Hate Lab, Choki Biki Records, Rave Residence, Ballacid, and What Goes Up. Gaining support from Rebuke and Bklava in the process while also performing at notable LOST parties, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Presswork.

The 22-year-old DJ and producer's eager to start 2023 as he means to go on with this lush remix filled with warm piano chords, atmospheric pads, and a delicious vocal-saxophone pairing that drives the composition from start to finish. Resulting in a fresh perspective compared to the original courtesy of Cedarwood State Trax.

When asked about the remix, this is what Presswork had to say; 'When I originally heard ‘Come On Out’, I was hooked on the vocal and sax melody and instantly knew I wanted to remix the track. I decided to go for a more stripped-back take of the track, with a slower tempo and fewer elements in places, whilst also keeping the original vocal/sax melody. I also chose to incorporate some piano and 303 melodies to create more of a minimal vibe throughout.'

New York City based imprint HOMAGE continues to deliver raw and upfront electronic sounds from up and coming talent, the imprint released the debut EP from now hotly tipped artist KETTAMA and most recently released the critically acclaimed debut EP from Will Hofbauer. Here we see the label welcome Dublin, Ireland based artist DART onto its roster, yet another rising talent making waves on his home turf and further afield across the globe.

‘Raided’ opens the release with thunderous swinging drums, twitchy synth sequences, bumpy bass and rave-tinged strings to perfectly set the tone. ‘Only The Strong’ follows next, retaining a similarly rave-tinged aesthetic via a hypnotic synth hook, shuffled percussion and rumbling subs while female vocal hooks flow amongst the sturdy groove.

The two remixes make up the B-Side of the release and X-Coast’s ‘Da Vibe Mix’ is up first, reshaping the original with an uptempo trance-leaning twist courtesy of choppy, filtered synth licks, organic percussion and pulsing low-end bass line. Dixon Avenue Basement Jams regular Big Miz then rounds things out with his take on ‘Only The Strong’, opting for squelchy 303 licks and dusty dynamic drums alongside the originals lead and infectious vocals.

After what's been the hardest year in existence for many people on earth, especially those involved in music and live performance, it's hard to imagine the reality of being homeless at any time, let alone right now.
100% of the proceeds from our debut VSN compilation go to Dublin charity, Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH), who do mammoth amounts of work on the streets of the Irish capital, where there is an ongoing epidemic of homelessness.

With tracks coming from far and wide across almost every genre we could think of, we take a club night that came from very humble Saturday nights in Room 2 of a Galway nightclub to worldwide ears thanks to the generous productions of some of the biggest and most talented names that you may know every detail about or nothing at all; each track paints a different and unique aspect of the world of VSN.
