For this episode we have invited the super talented producer and DJ, LOIF, from Naarm, Australia. With releases characterized by deep, layered, magical musical journeys and detailed to the bone productions.

For this episode LOIF brings us 2 hour of psychedelia, recorded live at a warehouse party run by Unsung in Eora. Mind tickling sounds, braindance patterns and groovy trance blended togehter with super tight mixing.

Ute Mix Series #62 | LOIF

Next up in our mix series is the Naarm/Melbourne based DJ & producer, Tangerine, a central figure in the local scene known for both her DJ and live-sets. She recently debuted with her singel EP, 'First Breath', where she unites two divergent approaches: her productions are just as chaotic as delicate, embracing the beauty of contradiction.

With this mix Tangerine blends psychedelic and trippy rhytms, with emotional soundscapes, and the mix works just as good at home, as in club sceneries. A true trip!

Life Form 001: LOIF

@trancesettersofwestphalia deliver this trip of a mix - freshly cooked on the wheels of steel for your favorite fiery cabin dance floor or listening adventure, alternatively performed at beaches or in deep forests. A hypnotic ride through history of mind bending music. The two Westphalen residents convinced recently with an outstanding debut release on Junction Forest, home of the shrooms and an extraordinary live set performed at Warning Berlin for example. Spell Cast 011 - Trancesetters of Westphalia

Next up in our mix series is A Strange Wedding, a magnificent DJ and producer, with a true signature sound, full of psy-influenced soundscapes, deep basslines and mind-drilling synths. He is part of both Worst Records, and Saint Etienne’s amazing Positive Education.

This 3-hour rhytmical wandering, spans slow-burning and psychedelic atmospheres to fast-paced shamanistic sounds, and moves confidently through moods creating utterly psychotropic states. This is a true journey for the heads - tune in, drop out.

Ute Mix Series #68 | A Strange Wedding

Following a string of excellent contributions to esteemed compilations under both the Eastern Distributor and Jörmungandr aliases, Daniel Jakobssson joined me for episode 204 of Passing Notes to celebrate the announcement of his forthcoming EP ‘State of Equilibrium’. ‘State of Equilibrium’ features the long-awaited (and very highly IDed!) track ‘Balance’, which finds itself nicely nestled between two equally progressive, bush-ready cuts and a signature Maara remix. Luring listeners to a dusty dance floor, the release presents bubbling, psychedelic tech and trance cuts that tether the line between functional, fun and something a little more serious. Having recently also waded to the darker side of the swamp, Daniel’s newly established ‘Jörmungandr’ alias explores the ever-evolving experimental and fast paced iterations of trance and techno. His expression of this sound is simultaneously sharp and deliciously viscous, gaining increasing attention from international favourites such as @ute-rec and @amniote-editions.

Eastern Distributor - PN 204

Woody92 (@woodyninetytwo) is a true experimentalist who operates at the fringes of the electronic scene. The Dutchman draws on his interest in graphic design to come at sound from a different perspective. His psychoactive mix of leftfield, techno and minimalism is rare and deep. He has built an international but close-knit circle of creative friends and collaborators who all work on fresh future music for his Omen Wapta label which he calls "a transitory playground for the imagination."

In this week's sublime and subliminal mix, you'll hear plenty of upcoming Omen Wapta releases and collaborations Woody92 has worked on with different artists. He says he has researched other parts of his musical self in this mix and tried to translate uptempo rhythms "that reflect a continuous movement into temporal realms - ancient fundamentals smudged and sculpted into a deconstructed landscape full of ancestral constructions.” It's a truly mind-expanding listen that opens up all new pathways.
