We are happy to welcome yet another new face to our ever growing artist roster, though Rico Puestel is definitely not an unknown name for fans of electronic music! Rico is - amongst many other things - a trained pianist, a self-trained guitarist, a drummer, a musicologist, a Zappa enthusiast, a struggler, a neurotic, a martyr of art and, most-notably: A genuine, perpetually driven music producer! Gregor has been a fan of Rico´s music for years, and - being blown off his socks by his recently released full length album Obi Thine Xi - had to ask Rico for some original music to be released on Break New Soil. Et voila: „Afar“ landed in our mailbox like a beacon of light in these dark times for club culture! On top of the three outstanding original tracks, we couldn´t be happier to have Alexander Kowalski working his magic on „Axioms". Once again, Alexander delivered an example to underline his status of being one of the most in-demand producers in the realm of modern electronic music! To round things off we are stoked to present a full-on peaktime rework of „Afar“ by the duo of the moment that is Joyhauser! We believe we have quite the package for you to enjoy!

Belgian techno don Marco Bailey lands on Watergate with a debut that’s guaranteed to intrigue as he leans into electro territory. 

DJ, producer and label chief, his is a storied career that spans three decades, and it’s long been evident that Marco’s enthusiasm and passion remains resolute. He closed 2021 with the release of his sixth studio album Surreal Stage, an ambitious, introspective body of work that dropped via his booming imprint Materia. His own label aside, his discography is stacked with cuts across eminent labels Second State, ARTS, Bedrock Records, as well as being one of the first artists to debut on Carl Cox’s seminal INTEC. While it’s techno that he’s become firmly associated with, his adeptness in the studio isn’t limited to the nuances of one genre and this is a rare opportunity to showcase a different side to his musicality. 

It’s ‘From My Mind’ that delivers first and sticks in your mind - from the heavy synth bassline to the soaring ascendant melody, and distorted, robotic vocals. ‘The Spirit’ floods in next, almost immediately engaging listeners as it ebbs and flows with complete abandon. If the promise of electro grabbed your attention, ‘Pulse’ slaps and packs plenty of punch power as it snakes its way through with dominating, ascendant chords.

German duo Extrawelt and Belgian export Biesmans step in with rerubs of ‘From My Mind’, and firmly grip some of the elements which make this electro excursion so memorable. Steve Rachmad seizes his Sterac Electronics alias, staying true to form in getting deeper and darker with a brooding, stirring trip that begs for immediate replay. Techno linchpin The Advent links up with Zein Ferreira, delivering a cut that blazes with ascending notes and a scattering of twisted elements beneath the winding vocal bleed. Axel Haube, a rising Belgian artist, is last in and he weaves a rolling bassline through a rerub that lifts the mood with a celestial melody and skyward keys.

Over the past few years, UK artist, Saytek (aka Joseph Keevill) has carved himself a reputation as one of the electronic music scene's most innovative live acts thanks to his impressive improvised shows. With a live career spanning 20 years it's no surprise he has honed his craft to an outstanding level.


Described by Carl Cox as an “Absolute Genius when it comes to live” a sentiment echoed by his fans and many across the industry due to his mastery of machines (including analog synths, sequencers and drum machines) combined with unique energy and an ear for melody.

 His sound is broad and genre-defying, taking listeners on a journey through underground house, acid & techno that is tough yet intricate and deep.

Saytek has released eight esteemed live albums, Live Jam tracks, EPs and 12” singles, on his Cubism imprint as well labels such as Awesome Soundwave, KMS, Trax, R&S, Superfreq, Liebe*Detail, Soma, Bedrock, fabric, My Favorite Robot Records, Wiggle and many more. His raw live recorded tracks have become the weapons of choice for the most respected DJs in the world across the spectrum of underground music.
