Hello everyone! Good news, out now is the album ‘Wondrous Stories: The Best of Yes’, it was originally released in 2011 with a cover I didn’t know about or approve. Both Demon who released it and Rhino were very helpful in putting right the situation, and the two cd set has been re-released with a cover specially made based on an updated view of the ‘Fragile’ world. This was a closer match to the colours and shapes in the first Yessong painting “Escape”.

THE RECEIVER REVEALS DETAILS FOR NEW STUDIO ALBUM “ALL BURN”
“All Burn” out June 23- USA / June 29th UK on Kscope

COLUMBUS, Ohio –Midwest symphonic dream-prog duo, The Receiver, has revealed the initial details for its upcoming studio album, All Burn. All Burn – the group’s debut on progressive powerhouse, Kscope – will release on June 23 in North America & 29th June in the UK. Comprised of brothers Casey (vocals, synths/keyboards, bass) and Jesse Cooper (drums & vocals), the siblings call All Burn their “best material to date which focuses on a dreamier aesthetic than our earlier work.”
 
All Burn is also the first self-produced Receiver album, with mixing handled by Danny Kalb (Beck, Ben Harper, Foster the People, Karen O)  and mastering by Brian Lucey (Sigur Ros, The Shins, The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys).
 
Commented Jesse Cooper: “We’re hoping our fans will think this album was worth the wait! It’s the first time we’ve completely self-produced one of our albums, and we feel we got it right. This album is on the more ambient and groovier side, but is still undeniably a Receiver album. We feel it’s our best work to date, from music to concept. We wanted to make an album with a collection of songs that are able to stand alone by themselves, but also had a cohesiveness to listen to as a complete piece of work. The end goal was to create an album that stands the test of time.”
 
“A lot of music out there is one and done,” added Casey. “It might be really catchy at first, but it’s so instantly gratifying that it loses its luster after a few repeated listens. Our hope is that our music is catchy, but to always have layers that don’t demand attention upon first listen. The goal is to provide a lot for the listener to comb through over time – music to get lost in for a while.”

Formed in 2005 at The Ohio State University, The Receiver released its debut album, Decades, in 2006 on the New York-based, Stunning Models On Display Records. The duo returned with the sophomore offering, Length of Arms, in 2009 through Vital Music Records.
 
The Receiver is an incredibly active touring partnership, having played throughout North America and sharing the stage with notable acts such as St. Vincent, Midlake, The Album Leaf, Mono, Dawes, Royal Canoe, Maserati, Telefon Tel Aviv, Mr. Gnome and Operators to name a few, as well as performing at 2014’s CMJ Festival in New York.
 
The brothers have been featured on MTV2’s “Bands on The Rise,” and have songs included on the FX Network's series, Dirt, as well as a number of independent shorts and films.

Fantasy Techno collective DUST - a trio comprised of audio engineer Michael Sherburn, DIY nightlife entrepreneur John Barclay and multi-disciplinary artist Greem Jellyfish - announce today their debut full length, Agony Planet.  

The nightmarish, alien horror narrative will be released January 22nd on Mike Simonetti’s new 2MR imprint. Immersed in Brooklyn's DIY rave community, all three members held roles in the genesis of notable extinct venues 285 Kent and Trip House, and now Bossa Nova Civic Club. In 2012 Sherburn and Barclay joined forces to found DUST and were joined shortly thereafter by Jellyfish; the following year they released their first 12”, “Onset of Decimation,” on Mannequin. Between 2013 and 2015, they released several more 12”, two on Mannequin, as well as one for Sci-Fi & Fantasy and one for 2MR.

Over these years, with Sherburn at the helm, the framework and themes for Agony Planet began to be conceptualized. Thirteen tracks, spanning in genre from digital hardcore, dungeon techno, and celestial ambience, are all held together by a theme of extravagant extraterrestrial warfare. Club-savvy techno engineering accompanied by frontwoman Greem Jellyfish’s bizarre monologues and warped screams beckon listeners on a journey through the occult mysticism of the nightmarish and torturous deep ocean of an alien hell. Agony Planet is an unrelenting and bold debut from a trio not afraid to explore the dark caverns of the underground.

It’s taken from fifth album Scintilla, featuring a guest appearance by Vincent Cavanagh of Anathema and acclaimed Italian singer Andrea Chimenti.

The follow-up to 2013’s Afterthoughts is described as “a wholly new musical and visual approach,” inspired by “personal upheaval and a desire for change.”

Mainman Giancarlo Erra tells Prog: “Short Story is one of the shortest and less-structured Nosound songs, both musically and lyrically – and yet one that perfectly sets the mood to ‘different’ and prepares for the album.

“The video introduces the places where the album was partly written and recorded, and illustrates the emotional extremes present, being at the same time delicate and thunderous without very much for the in-between.”

He adds: “During a decade of activity, my listening taste shifted gradually towards simpler and more direct music with a more intimate character, still retaining a certain richness and detail in sound.

“Northern folk and alt singer-songwriter music are possibly the stronger influences, but generally speaking everything that is simple, direct and minimal but with rich sound is what I like, and what I hope this album is.

“I think Scintilla marks the start of a second phase for Nosound.”

After the worldwide acclaim generated by the 2014 anthemic rock release Magnolia, The Pineapple Thief returns with its most ambitious studio album to date, Your Wilderness (featuring Gavin Harrison on drums throughout).

Musically, the band’s 11th studio album represents a marked change in direction and takes TPT away from Magnolia’s more ‘pop’ orientated production. On Your Wilderness, the band has allowed itself -plus a dream team of contributors - to perform without any inhibitions. Bruce Soord has drawn inspiration from his Progressive roots in order to provide a springboard for the ongoing creative growth of The Pineapple Thief. 

For the first time, The Pineapple Thief has brought in several special guest performers, alongside Gavin Harrison (who has gifted some typically brilliant drum parts that have taken TPT into fresh territory), and a four-piece choir, Geoffrey Richardson (Caravan) arranged and recorded string sections, Darran Charles (Godsticks) contributed additional electric guitar work, and Supertramp’s John Helliwell performs some beautiful clarinet parts that bring the album to a poignant close. 

Featuring conceptually sympathetic Carl Glover artwork, lyrically Your Wilderness follows the journey of a parent and child and chronicles love, fear, estrangement and, ultimately, reconciliation as their lives unfold.  

Your Wilderness was recorded, mixed and engineered at Soord Studios in Somerset and was produced by The Pineapple Thief (with the exception of the drums, which Gavin Harrison produced & engineered).

The mastering was by The Pineapple Thief’s own Steve Kitch (audiomaster.co.uk).

Seen as one of the most vital Rock bands the UK has produced over the last two decades, The Pineapple Thief was formed in 1999 by founder and chief songwriter Bruce Soord and has continued to evolve and refine its sound throughout its existence.

Bruce Soord has also collaborated with the likes of Wisdom Of Crowds (with Katatonia’s Jonas Renkse), Katatonia (joining the band on its 2014 acoustic European tour), and has created 5.1 remixes for artists such as Opeth, TesseracT, Tim Bowness and Katatonia.

Soord released his debut self titled debut solo album through Kscope in 2015.

The synthphonic dream-prog brothers Casey and Jesse from Ohio, USA formed The Receiver in 2005 and were picked up after only a few live performances by New York-based Stunning Models On Display Records and released their debut album Decades in 2006. Their sophomore album Length of Arms followed in 2009 before they joined the Kscope family last year and released their third, All Burn.

The remix release, Air in the Embers, features a cover of Elliott Smith’s “Between the Bars”, originally recorded as a proposal to Casey's girlfriend, makes for a brooding, tender finale to the collection. The three “excerpts” on the release are stripped-back versions of the original tracks from the All Burn album mixed by the band themselves, with “These Days” transformed into two minutes of evocative, synth-only beauty.

As for the remixes, The Receiver were big fans of Kscope stalwarts North Atlantic Oscillation before joining the label, and their idols have not let down with their remix; an understated, Bonobo-esque bass and drum line lays the foundation to a masterful mix that harnesses the raw emotion of Casey’s vocals. Also featured are Glenn Davis and Medallion, with the euphoric, downtempo opening tracks; Fu_k the Zeitgeist, Kscope’s regular remixers are the Brazilian group previously known as Worldengine, and Bohm offers his take on All Burn’s single “Transit”.
