'Ken Hayakawa returns to Stripped Down with the ‘Kaisermantel’ EP, delivering an atmospheric two tracker accompanied by a remix from German duo Apnoea.

Vienna scene staple Ken Hayakawa boasts releases on labels such as Schönbrunner Perlen, International Deejay Gigolos and Upon You Records. He first arrived on Stripped Down in 2018 with the ‘Sonic Waves’ EP and has since become a recurring contributor to the label, ‘Kaisermantel’ marking his third project signed to the respected Frankfurt imprint.

The title track opens up with catchy, spacey synth lines arpeggiating with increasing intensity over clean, minimal drums. While ‘Kaisermantel’ takes you to the far corners of the galaxy, ‘Hollow Ghost’ takes a different approach and ventures into the furthest depths of the earth. Its dark, cavernous drums are backed by shimmering pads and give a grand sense of scale.

Apnoea follow up their ‘Phnk’ EP on Stripped Down with a remix of Ken’s ‘Hollow Ghost’, once again proving that they are a pair to keep a close eye on in 2022. Their version adds suspense and mystery with a hypnotic new synthline weaving in and out of the reworked bass and strings.

Pitu Leiva is a young DJ and producer from argentina. He started Djing in the radio and in small bars, now, after some succsessful releases he is on his way to be a well booked and professional DJ. His sound represents the sound of the WAAP label perfectly, deep house with a certain edge to it and in his case, he really likes dark and crazy vocals which he adds to this sound. All this can be found on the ep: rolling basslines, deep kickdrums, nice deephousegrooves and mad vocals. DJ Aroma`s remix puts these vocals in a pot of bassy and deep well known Berlin sound, whereas Sven Wegner likes it very funky and housy, not very typical for him normally but sunny and nice. Sebus gives it a hypnotic touch and the original itself jumps around on the dancefloor, resembling an old school method of producing sometimes, but at the same time making you move contemporary lightweighted and fluffy to the groove. 
Another release on the WAAP label with excellent music from argentina, which is so far away from germany but soundwise so close , so deep and such a dancefloor filler.

Pitu Leiva ist ein junger DJ und Produzent aus Argentinien. Zunächst begann er in Radios und kleinen Bars aufzulegen, ist nach einigen Veröffentlichungen nun auf dem besten Weg ein viel gebuchter und professioneller DJ zu sein. Ganz im Sinne des WAAP-Sounds mag er gerne 
deepen House mit dem gewissen Kick, seine Spezialität sind darke und verrückte Vocals. All das findet sich auf dieser EP wieder: rollende Basslines, deepe Bassdrums, schöne Deephousegrooves und kaputte Vocals. Bei DJ Aroma`s Remix landen die Vocals in einem Pot aus bassigem, deepstem Berliner Sound, bei Sven Wegner wird das Ganze ungewöhnlich 
housig und sehr funky verwurtset, während Sebus dem Song etwas Hypnotisches zugibt. Das Original selbst hüpft durch die Tanzfläche und mutet an manchen Stellen angenehm altmodisch an um gleichzeitig böse und leichtfüssig den Hintern zum Wackeln zu bringen.

Ein weiteres schönes Release auf WAAP mit exzellenter Musik aus Argentinien, so weit weg und soundmässig doch so nahe, deep und tanzbar.
