Winter's Last Snow

This is the extended theme of original music I composed for the movie "Timeless" by Andrew Blazensky, a post-apocalyptic feel good movie about a boy finding his family :)



Intro to movie "Timeless" by Stefan Orozco

Scene:

This music tells the detailed story of broken romance. Specifically, composed for the climactic montage near the end of the film which spans a dozen scenes and has no dialogue, yet in only 2 minutes and 56 seconds, it tells the entire story of two lovers, Glen and Marie. Glen is traveling to combat his ongoing feelings of loss of a loved one several years ago. Marie has a young heart but an old soul, an energetic and passionate young local artist who thrives on living in each moment. She is returning from her travels to the United States, her attempt to seek out adventure and inspiration in new places.

In the first scenes of the montage, we meet them when they had first discovered one another. First, when they passed each other as strangers at the airport, the opening scene of the film. And next, when they discover one another first at the Tuileries Gardens and again gazing at impressionistic art at the Musee d'Orsay, where they share a heartfelt conversation that prompts a dinner date.

What follows are a few scenes of their more intimate discovery, romantic yet also lighthearted dinner conversations followed by a stroll along the river Seine, slowly building powerful momentum to their first kiss. This is followed by flashes of Marie sharing the breathtaking sights of her native Paris with Glen while also developing a close relationship with him.

Towards the end of the montage, it becomes evident that Glen's former feelings of loss return, leading to emotional confusion of his newfound love for Marie.

By the end of the montage, the audience not only has empathy for Glen, but they also understand why Glen needs Marie. The magnetism of her fiery and enthusiastic personality will help bring hope and humor back into Glen's life.
