Secret

When I sit down to write, what often comes to me most naturally (and at times against my own will) are lullabies and waltzes, or some combination of the two. I have obvious sources to blame for this - primarily the fairytale films I adored in my childhood and the timeless melodies that came with them, always embellished with strings, bells and harps. Writing Fairy Songs was a way of celebrating and indulging in my life-long obsession with the lullaby as a mode of music. To me, a lullaby is ephemeral and miniature, shining and secret - something you can hold in your palm, like a keepsake in a trinket box. Some of these songs are intricate and impressionist, others simple and tender, and all are connected in this small, glowing feeling.

The sonic world of this EP is an exploration in what I’ve been referring to as magic realism in sound - my usual sparkly synths are balanced with acoustic sounds, moments of pause and textural noise; I wanted to hear the human hand in the ethereal - as though these sounds were not created in an electronic world, but have always existed among us in the real world. Maybe we’d hear them if we just listened close enough?

Ayahuasca

Inspos from hypnotic techno but also hypnagogic pop and a lot of experimental stuff I find that inspires me.
My House is Burining down is like a guided meditation in the state of crossing and overcoming the death of the dream, the dream of the dream house, connected to the infantile state and the dollhouse used as a kid for playing and having fun. The fire burns down the house in the means of destruction but also purification from what was before and at the end it leaves new space for what comes next.
