Thirteen years after their landmark debut, Italian duo Voices From The Lake (Donato Dozzy & Neel) return with their much-anticipated second album, ‘II’ (two) on their own Spazio Disponibile.The record marks a new chapter in one of electronic music’s most revered projects.

Born from a friendship and a singular musical vision, Voices From The Lake first emerged as a one-off live performance in the Japanese Alps, later distilled into their self-titled 2012 album. That record has since become a touchstone in ambient techno, reshaping the global landscape of hypnotic and atmospheric electronic music. In the years since, the duo have performed worldwide, released a handful of EPs, worked on installations, and founded record labels, all while continuing to refine the project’s unique identity. Yet the core of Voices From The Lake has always been its deep, aqueous approach to sound, a sensibility that returns in full force on II.

“The project was never meant to become what it did,” the duo reflect. “At one point, we even paused it. Only to later embrace it in all its forms. II is both a continuation and a reinvention.” True to that spirit, Voices From The Lake have explored extremes in recent years, from high-tempo live sets to seated listening concerts, while remaining anchored in the meditative pulse of ambient techno. II extends this lineage, carrying forward the immersive sound design and boundary-pushing vision that has defined their work from the beginning.

Known for his singular ability to bridge ancient ritual and modern dancefloor hypnosis, the Athens-based producer turns his gaze once more to the roots of Greek music—this time fully reworking two timeless classics into contemporary weapons.

Released via Duas Quadras, the EP offers DJs and listeners alike two powerful tools—both deeply rooted and infinitely transportive.

With “Over Empathy”, Kletis continues his exploration of the misty borderlands between techno, bass music and dubs, delivering a dense, poetic and introspective EP where sound itself seems to breathe under the rain. Born in the humid forests of northern Czechia, his sonic world carries the mark of a half-lit realm, heavy with melancholy yet vibrating with restrained strength.

Each track shapes a shifting landscape, both dark and hypnotic, from the subterranean tension of Parametric to the organic pulse of RukaRuka, leading to the fragile beauty of the title track Over Empathy, the true heartbeat of the release. Two remixes extend this journey, Fallen Tape unveils a mystical and ethereal vision, like an echo from another plane, while Sub Accent reveals a more vivid, dub-infused energy.

Balancing inner fog and ritual depth, Kletis sculpts music that seeks not to belong but to feel, a language of textures, shadows and light, where every frequency turns into vibration and empathy becomes sound.

Kalocain is a music producer and artist based in Frankfurt/Offenbach, Germany.
Sasa Crnobrnja & Alex Gloor (Codek Records): - We met Joschi/KALOCAIN in 2013 through his father, the owner of the last secondhand books shop in my (Alex) neighbourhood here in Basel, Switzerland. Joshi told us about tracks he’s producing so we visited him in the Black Forest mountains in southwest Germany in a little gingerbread house where he was tinkering around on his laptop making tracks. After getting him a set up of Korg USB controllers things started to pick up and he kept sending tracks over the years. A few weeks ago we asked Joshi for some new house tracks and he delivered, enjoy.
