Inspired by the legendary Armand van Helden and Mark Knight, I did my take on this beautiful disco banger from the late 70's. I felt that the remix of Armand and Mark was a bit too tech for my sets, so tried making a version that kept more of the original disco elements, yet deliver a steady house groove to the dance floor.

Michi and I were set and ready to take over from Mimi Love @spreedelay, but during our third track, our mixer unexpectedly dropped out. It was a bumpy start, but once we switched over to the backup mixer, everything took off and what a ride it turned into! We decided to keep the recording as it was: raw, real, and true to the live experience. Sometimes these little curveballs are just part of the journey.

The photo perfectly captures how we prep our sets—and also explains why our backs and shoulders are always in recovery mode! 😂 (Thank you, Em, for the snap!)

A heartfelt thank you to the entire @bachstelzen crew and Fusion for having us, to the producers behind the tracks, the sound techs, our amazing friends who held space for us, and every dancer and twerker who shared the moment on the floor.

@madmotormiquel, thank you for your constant support, and for being the best samba dancer and twerker a Brazilian could dream of!

P.S. This year marked Fusion’s 26th anniversary and Bachstelzen’s 20th. These collectives have shaped and inspired generations of ravers, myself included. I truly wouldn’t be who I am today without them. Happy birthday, and here’s to many more years of magic!

Stefan Jurrack - The RYTM (Rework)

Barcelona based DJ and producer Art Department provides an energetic remix of Nitin’s ‘Sunday Grey’ EP, flipping the title track with a menacing motif.

As the ‘Sunday Grey’ EP is set for release on No. 19 Music, the label run by Art Department and Nitin, it’s fitting that both artists get involved in supplying new material. The original is decidedly more soothing than the remix, which is more tuned for high energy moments.

By transforming the atmospheric nature of ‘Sunday Grey’, Art Department lets the deep, resounding bass echo throughout the track as techy melodies ring in and deliver a more cosmic approach.

Nitin’s ‘Sunday Grey’ EP will be released on May 8, and features a second original paired with a remix by The Mole.

Als mittlerweile gewachsener “Local Hero” spielte Stefan Jurrack 2011 zum Summer Spirit Festival, seine über 10jährige Residenz im Club Bellevue und Auslandsgigs, z.B. im EL ROW in Barcelona, in Paris oder in Polen unterstreichen sein Standing als DJ. Der Mix aus Tech House und Jackin House, geprägt durch Acts wie Sidney Charles, Kenny Dope, Luna City Express, Carl Craig und DJ Sneak, lässt nirgendwo jemanden kalt, und besonders dann nicht, wenn er auch noch mit Vinyl auflegt, ein Muss für Stefan Jurrack und der natürliche Bogen zum: Can You Feel It? “Ich möchte mit meiner Musik die Leute anregen sich auf dem Dancefloor zu bewegen und in bester Erinnerung zu bleiben. Mit meiner Musik und dem dazugehörigen Temperament möchte ich jeder Party das gewisse etwas verpassen.” Sein aktuelles Release “Straight Outta” erschien gerade auf der Wonnemusik, sein Remix für „Nightlife“ von Lissat & Voltaxx ist die nächste grosse Hausnummer. Und dass sich im “Jurrack” ein “Jack” verbirgt, das dürfte auch kein Zufall sein…
