The ever-reliable Kuukou Records continues with stern and burly intent with an onslaught of releases ready for dance-floors as they continue to open up across the beginning of 2022. Simina Grigoriu's label follows on Kuukou's last EP with a fresh with a single featuring 2 feisty remixes from I AM BAM and Southampton based artist Melody's Enemy.

It's evident from the very first kick drum that 'Instant Communication' slots effortlessly into the Kuukou catalogue; the title track drives a heaving kick under flashing 909 hats before the whole recording opens up into a dark and cinematic breakdown. Rasping low-end rips under strings and vocal snips, swelling with tension before sparking the floor back up with powerful effect.

Thundering & menacing from the very first kick drum, I AM BAM's remix of ‚Instant Communication' takes the listener higher with pure, ruthless rave energy. The arps weave an infectious & hypnotic journey throughout the track blending seamlessly into the rhythm of the drums. Bam's signature raw, energy shines through and delivers us a warehouse stomper destined to elevate any dancefloor instantly.

Melody's Enemy then concludes things with his take - a slightly more stripped version which relies on deft sound design, a consistent sense of pressure and filtered vocals which round off another sterling addition to a catalogue of music going from strength to strength.

Originally released back in 2010 as part of an Agoria mix compilation sampler Temperature's Rising has become a cult hit with vinyl copies now impossible to find for any price as the chance of a repress was held back by record company politics. Now, finally, it returns, remastered for 2016 and enjoying the clear cut and full side of vinyl it undoubtedly deserves.

On the B-side is the Temperate Dub, recorded at the same time as the lead mix, but which has remained unreleased until now. It takes a deep classic even deeper dubbing out syllables of the vocal over a reverberated version of the  now familiar half-time rhythm of the original mix.

Reaching our 100th release seems surreal. I started it with 50 bucks and a defiant attitude to release music I felt wasnt repped elsewhere. The label has grown into a renegade family and worldwide Techno brand. Proud of every single achievement and mistake we have made. Kanto Records' founder Oceanvs Orientalis' brand new three-track EP "Dance Of Swords" is out now! Available on digital stores! 

The EP is a culmination of intermittent composing made by Oceanvs Orientalis amid his extensive touring schedule during the past 12-month period. Mixed and recorded in various locations from Ibiza to New York to Istanbul the EP consists tracks cherry picked to form a conceptual testament to Spain based producer's ever-continuing creative streak while on the road. 

	The first track that bears the same name as the EP, is built upon a nicely curated beat led by a punchy bass line. It has the potential to stir up the dance floors with its upbeat tempo. Second track of the EP is a six-minute-long melodic stream named Truths of Relativity peppered with some twangy beats and portrays a subtle yet tempered texture. The third and last track of the Volga the Horse, features Rami Abousabe of Brooklyn-based duo Bedouin on guitars.

The cover image of the EP, deftly shot by aspiring Turkish photographer Onur Girit, is a match made in heaven with the general mood of the EP.

Oceanvs Orientalis - Truths Of Relativity

Dear Listeners, 
It’s been overwhelming how many of you have written and asked for this year’s Fusion set.  One person even counted the weight of the tears he had shed every time he came here, and found the set was not online yet. So why did it take so long? 
 
It was a very intense four hour set at the Palapa, and it was a very intense week before that. To go back and revisit those moments required quite a bit of strength, which I didn’t have until now. Obviously the intensity of revisiting those moments at the Palapa had a lot to do with the death of our dear friend Bas Engels. 
You might think that I'm loco for saying this, but I know Bas was there with us, celebrating life and death, guiding me through the set and even creating some magic, when my computer froze and I had to restart it, while improvising on a drum machine. Normally the recording would be lost then, but this time it was just there as if nothing had happened. Without him you wouldn’t be able to listen to this now. 
I want to thank Bas for the special magic he created on so many occasions.  Also I want to thank Eule and his team for their foresight and faith to pull me slightly out of my comfort zone, and into this perfect Sunday morning setting. And, of course, I also want to thank all of you, because 
music sounds better with you.
