Just before the summer begins, Berlin’s Ampispazi is ready to release another quality single, this time coming from Italy’s Stefano Pini, at his debut with the label. Stefano has previously released with other labels such as Frequenza, Scandler, Simplex, Autist, Eklero gaining respect and supports all around the European’s scene. His first installment on Ampispazi, ‘Industry’, is a solid original track backed up with 2 remixes from two keys figures in the imprint’s mechanisms: Mik Santoro and Ercos Blanka. The original version is a dance floor focused tune, one of those that could easily fit an opening set or that could be dropped at the middle of a late night’s one: a melodic jumpy tech-house track in which an uplifting synth lines is merged with relentless percussions and bass-line. Label’s head Mik Santoro moves with his remix the atmosphere of the original track onto a more psychedelic imaginary, merging noises and profound vocals with hypnotic synth-lines and deep electronic grooves, for a proper after-hour cut. Ercos Blanka with his remix goes into opposite direction from the other two producers, creating a very elaborate mix; the track starts with some proper classic dub-techno bits, from the bassline to the kick, but when the melody starts it discloses a completely different soul: an ethereal chord opens towards the tune before the drop while different synth lines slowly grows into different melodic layers which reminds us Mano Le Tough and his style in his ‘Primitive People’ LP. A song before than a record.

After the massive success of Dementio that stayed in Beatport’s Techno Top 100 for months and months, it was literally one of the longest lasting tracks in the chart and was highly talked about. Dementio IS the most successful digital Yin Yang EVER.

Beyond techno is the next huge instalment from Alen Milivojevic. It is a huge slab of sexy as hell purist techno with a funky driving baseline and sexy as hell sounds. It’s groove is catchy as hell and has you hooked immediately into its sublime sounds. This is Alen’s finest hour. I will let the track do the talking, its that good.

Remixes come from some of techno’s finest. 

One of the biggest names in Techno is up first. Cristian Varela is the numero uno remixer and what a cracking remix he has delivered. Takes the original and funks it up into an almost tech house version, but keeping it techno. Check out the groove. This is one Cristian Varela’s finest remixes and will be a hit for sure. Supreme Remix.

Alen himself is up next for a remix. Alen loved his original that much that he also wanted to have a go at remixing it. Well he certainly did that. He has redefined the original and made it more melodic. I don’t know which is bigger! this or the original? Again check it out for yourself. Outstanding.

MAAE is next and WOW. He make this his own, beefing up that beefy bass sound and and adding his own groove. Fans of MAAE are going to agree that this is MAAE at his biggest and best. Absolutely fantastic.

Shelter is a new Yin Yang artist. The remix is a truly inspirational piece of work. It’s techno with a lot of progressive influences, fans of Yin Yang will understand that this is the long lasting sound of Yin Yang, crossing boundaries and genre’s. Watch out for more big releases coming out by Shelter early in 2015. He's gonna be massive!!

We sometimes forget that music is cyclical. As a new generation of clubbers discover sounds for the first time, they mistakenly believe the decades old genres are somehow a new phenomenon. The styles we attach to the terms techno, trance, progressive, and house are moving targets at best — words that are now redefined on an almost weekly basis.

Cycles is Max Graham's "Yearly Snapshot" of his own musical journey, a collection representing the natural progression in his taste. As always with Cycles, the elements of melody shine through this classically mixed compilation (like Graham's own 'Redemption' and his remix of Solid Stone and Jennifer Rene's haunting vocal tune 'Not Enough'), but much like his successful career over so many years, the mix takes a wide arc of influence as it moves from Tim Penner's lovely piano opening to Alex Di Stefano's tough as nails 'Black Panther' and back down to a perfectly fitting closing track by Gai Barone entitled 'Psycles' (written exclusively for this mix).

Solid Stone, a mainstay in Graham's set list, has no less than three unreleased tracks. Also making two appearances is rising star Thomas Vink whose production style effortlessly combines organic Techno beats with beautiful melody and emotion. From Guy J's progressive label Lost n Found to Techno's Drumcode and Yin Yang, 'Cycles' once again celebrates all that's good on that dance floor regardless of genre.

Like Cycles Radio this compilation showcases the ongoing diversity and evolution in Graham's sound, it's the closest representation to what you'll feel at a 6+ hour Open to Close set condensed into 78 minutes of well- constructed bliss. As the musical landscape changes we welcome this, the 6th revolution of Cycles and are eager to see where the pioneer heads next.
