Wordy Rappinghood" is one of Tom Tom Club's most famous songs, released as a single in 1981 from their self-titled debut album. The song is notable for its playful, experimental approach to lyrics, rhythm, and sound, and is considered an early example of blending new wave music with elements of hip-hop and rap. This edit created by me wants to capture the essence of the past while embracing a vision for the future. The nostalgic vibes of the '80s with a modern twist, incorporating a house and deeply tech mood.

Get ready to dance with my latest 2-hour DJ set, recorded live in Modra, Slovakia! This mix is all about energy and good vibes! Although it is not my usual afro/melodic style, I still had a lot of fun putting this set list together! 

My job as a performer is to read the audience and make people dance! The venue often determines the sound, and therefore - duty calls. As a DJ first and producer second, staying flexible and stepping outside of my comfort zone is crucial for keeping my creativity alive, my technical skills on point and my performances sharp. 

This set in particular is a perfect representation of that philosophy-diversifying your sound every once in a while to demonstrate flexibility, match audience expectations and keep things fresh and exciting! It's a great way to throw it back to my roots and pay homage to my humble beginnings as a mobile dj.

Starting off with a fun day club/pool party tech house vibe, I’ll get everyone in the mood to move and groove. Then, we’ll transition into some afro rhythms, explore the depths of techno and rage with some high-energy drum & bass and EDM anthems. Throughout the mix I even spice it up with some classic Ibiza tracks that everyone knows and loves, along with a number of my favorite house remixes!

With a little something for everyone in this mix, you can expect to keep the dance floor buzzing whether you’re hosting an epic pool/house/boat party, or just sweating it out at the gym.

Hip-House Radio is back with episode 21, featuring Toronto's own KAELO!! 

Known for his dynamic and genre-spanning sets, KAELO first made a name for himself in the Toronto electronic music scene in 1999 at System Soundbar, performing live PAs for the legendary Breathe nights. He began producing under the name JK47, alongside DJ Jet, and the duo were featured on Meat Katie's BBC Radio One Essential Mix. 

KAELO's diverse musical tastes are reflected in his style, and his ability to blend groovy beats with creative melodic riffs and sampling results in his brand of house, techno, and breakbeats that are as unique as they are catchy. In addition to his solo work, KAELO has produced music with Suicide Brothers, Boys of Summer, and Disco Fight Club, and has collaborated with other artists such as Paranoid Jack, Jamie Kidd, Lebaron James, Myagi, and Rey Gelato. His early 2000s back catalogue of vinyl JK47 EPs is currently being reissued with a fresh run of pressings thanks to AGT Records (preorder available now).
