"Ears Wide Open" is the mix series I'm starting where it is all about the composition of the mix and the music, first and foremost. I will try to select and share the tracks that might be not that widely known, new or old, and make sure they reach the ears of the listeners. For the first mix I chose a little slower tempo to start it off, but decided to hold that pace throughout the mix.

After a little break we are back with Ricardo Roessel, one of the up and coming talents from Chicago. Ricardo takes us on a deep and driving two hour journey of sounds, moods and feelings with this mix, that also includes a few of unreleased edits of his own. Please enjoy yourselves!

"I approached this mix with the active listeners experience in mind. Creating a broad range in sound but with a fluid buildup and breakdown. The opportunity to compose something more freeform, without some of the restrictions that come with the common dancefloor set. We tend to overlook the meditative qualities in music and I really wanted to highlight those properties and bring them to the forefront of this mix. I believe all forms of music can serve different purposes given in the right context, and it's up to the listener to interpret what that purpose may be from their own experience."
