Exclusive Nandu 'When The Tides Shift (Stefano Ritteri Remix)'

Back in 2017 Copenhagen based artist Nandu launched his label Calypso Chili and released his album 'Tales From My Living Room'. Every since the launch Nandu himself has had a busy schedule with several releases and remixes on labels such as Connected, AZZUR, MoBlack or SOLIDE and could not find the time to further the label. But with spring around the corner Calypso Chili will blossom again and pick up where it left off, namely with a remix EP of 'Tales From My Living Room'. Therefore Nandu invited his musical affiliates Melokolektiv and Stefano Ritteri to remix 'Something Simple' respectively 'When the Tides Shift' and contributes a remix himself of his track 'Only Human Casualities'. Ritteri, having quite an impressive history when it comes to electronic, takes on – as aforementioned – 'When the Tides Shift'. Keeping the hypnotic core of the track Ritteri breaks in the original's vocal and adjusts it to the remix' general mental vibe. Instrumental and vocal passages alternate within the track and create a comfortable tension that peaks in the break to then continue the mental joyride throughout the end.

Nandu's EP 'Tales From My Living Room Remixed' will be releason on Calypso Chili February 27th, 2019.

Ukrainian DJ and producer Lessovsky touches down on Highway Records with 3 cutting edge original tracks.

'Destiny' leads with an amalgamation of deep brooding bass tones, bubbling percussive hits and a string lead at its core whilst ethereal stabs and resonant leads ebb and flow within. While 'White Feathers' see's Lessovsky team up with Bakay for a journey riding out with elongated subs, sweeping atmospheric chords and soundscapes and a bell sequence, dynamically evolving and unfolding around an organic drum groove, legato induced bassline which drives the intelligent composition throughout.

To complete this masterful package 'Lefter' from Lessovsky and Bakay's is a perfect storm of ethereal synth soundscapes and intricate punchy beats which create a mind-melting groove that spirals its way around an underlying deep, driven 4/4 beat.

Heading to the flip side, head honcho Mike Spirit is back once again keeping up the prolific remixing strategy tracks for his label. This time he teams up with Thierry Tomas for the remix of 'Destiny' the pair subsequently deliver a synth-soaked melodic techno number which plays out as a distinctive, low-slung roller, simmering with superbly restrained bubbling energy, that subsides in a masterful arrangement.

Stelios Vassiloudis is a multifaceted composer, producer and DJ, originally hailing from Athens, Greece. Active in the electronic music since the early 2000s, he has cultivated a sound of his own - one that reflects his rich and diverse musical background, transcending the dance floor via an emotional narrative of complex soundscapes, intricate harmonies and hypnotic rhythms.

Classically trained, with a Bachelor’s degree in acoustical engineering and a Master’s degree in composition and arrangement, Stelios carved his path in electronic music by traversing the globe as a DJ and live performer, performing at premier venues the world over - intimate underground spots in Beirut, festivals in Miami, afterhours haunts in Tokyo, beaches in Vietnam and mega clubs in Ibiza.

His studio prowess and coveted productions have cemented his reputation as a versatile and acclaimed artist, as he has developed a formidable discography of LPs, EPs and remixes on iconic labels such as Bedrock, Rawax, Ovum, Rejected, Poker Flat, Constant Sound, Mobilee, Anjuna Reflections and Balance, among many others.

Not one to shy away from experimentation, the talent’s impressive back catalogue features a flush tapestry of influences from across the dance music spectrum. His impeccable technical knowledge and expansive musical lexicon allow him to make regular forays into disparate genres from raw peaktime techno to atmospheric ambient and from delicate lofi beats to futuristic drum n bass.

Recently relocating to SE Asia, Stelios has truly become immersed in the region’s flourishing scene - becoming a regular fixture on the circuit from Mumbai to Seoul, Beijing to Bali and all points between. His passion for this endeavour is best exemplified though his latest endeavour alongside iconic Hong Kong DJ and OMA music director Anthony Cheung (aka Anthony2). Together, they curate, run and perform “Dafbau” - an eclectic, east meets west bimonthly party concept, firmly rooted in the vibrant HK underground and showcasing the duo’s unparalleled aptitude for extended, late night dance floor madness.

Stelios’ intense passion and drive for progression in music serves as the fuel that keeps him inspired and relevant; qualities that no doubt ensure his continued reputation as a high calibre artist.
