The latest release on Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint finds the label presenting the third installment of its critically acclaimed ‘Correlation’ series. Conceptualized in 2017 with the intent of showcasing cutting edge electronic music, the inaugural edition featured a unique blend of rising talents along with industry veterans, resulting in a cohesive fusion of artists from across the world. At the time the label’s music policy was undergoing a shift, emerging into borderless realms and showcasing a broader spectrum of electronica. Unveiled two years later, the second installment furthered the label’s borderless vision with ten selections that touched on deeper, more contemporary sounds to laid back techno, all the way through to the label's progressive house roots. Now looking to make the series a biannual event, edition three continues the journey, leaving no stone unturned with a veritable smorgasbord of sound, covering a wide array of sonic space and featuring (in order of appearance) Ercos Blanka, TD, Gavin Rochford, Beije, amháin, Fermata Duomo, Dio S, MATE 0000 and Deepshader. Another unforgettable musical journey from Sound Avenue, one which perhaps foreshadows some future projects to come.

With 'The Release' Ritchie Haydn makes his long-awaited debut on ICONYC Noir. Ritchie delivers a slice of warm, pulsating club vibes. The track kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry bassline sits wonderfully on top, adding an extra layer of depth and class. Ritchie means business and it is evident with every step of the way. Essential stuff!

On remix duty we are very excited to welcome Rick Pier O Neil who also marks his debut on the label with a classy remix for the ages. The French producer who is known for his deep melodic progressive influenced sounds, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive. It's all about the groove, cool house vibes and the deep driving beats that are working their magic around RPO's wonderfully arranged keys and the wonderful use of elements on offer. RPO once again has reminded us with his classy rework why we are so fond of him.

Next up we welcome back Arnaud Cordova & Julian Liander to the label. Their unique act and emotional creations carry quite a large scope. They are not afraid to explore esoteric or introspective themes and the end result is always a compelling one. Such is the case with their remix of 'The Release', which carries many of their most loved production hallmarks. From a warm, meaty low end to icy atmospherics and an effects storyboard to get lost in, there is certainly a lot to like. The main break is perhaps the high point, with the mood shifting from emotive to ominous with effortless ease. It's something you rarely see and they pulled it off beautifully here.

With 'The Release' Ritchie Haydn really shows that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful gem guides you to a full-on club laden, melodic hug of a release that will cause many smile induced moments! 'The Release' sees a worldwide release on December 7th, 2020 via every well-known digital content provider. Not to be missed.

After a two-year hiatus, we can welcome Jiminy Hop from Russia again at Stellar. Jiminy has been dazzling listeners with relatively faster-paced organic house music lately, and his music titled 'Tropic' is no exception: it takes us to the beach for a self-forgetful dance. As the first remixer, Sam Naseh and Amir Subb aka HAFT joined us and created the perfect proghouse hit on this tropical-seaside theme that is sure to be played by many in their sets. As a second remixer, I am pleased to announce the Hungarian Yöurr, which we have been pursuing for a long time with the idea of cooperation. The always creative artist does not disappoint this time either, he created a cheeky, loose indie dance version of the original for those who are not bounded by genre boundaries.

‘Electrique Boutique’, has been meticulously curated and crafted throughout the past year by Steve Marx, a highly respected and in demand Sydney based dj with decades of experience playing around the world, and an integral part of onedotsixtwo’s A&R and management team. He has enlisted the talents of a wide spectrum of producers from across the globe, both established and up and coming, to contribute exclusive and previously unreleased material which he has expertly selected and mixed to form a unique and dynamic mix bursting with energy and individuality.

onedotsixtwo’s mantra is ‘Proper Progressive’ and there is no better advocate than Steve Marx for this. Using his innate understanding of the progressive sound he has compiled a stunning collection of tracks from a diverse group of immensely talented producers, a number of which were created specifically for the compilation.

Nick Newman’s ‘Oracle’ sets the scene perfectly with it’s deep rolling groove and haunting pipes, giving way to veteran Belfast producer Chris Cargo’s ‘Wolfie’, setting the tone for what is undoubtedly going to be a wild ride. Next up, Buenos Aires’ Santi Cebrero’s ‘El Canto de la Calandria’ brings the Argentinean progressive flavour into the mix with it’s beautiful soaring melodies and chugging bassline.

The recent hotbed for the progressive sound, Sri Lanka, has given us SAJAY and the stunning ‘Pareidolia’ with it’s sweeping and warped FX, carried forward by a deep rolling bassline and shimmering melodies. Australia’s Zankee Gulati is up next with one of a number of the tracks written specifically for this mix compilation. Zankee has seen a meteoric rise in the past year thanks to universally praised releases on highly respected labels and his track ‘Who Are You?’ demonstrates exactly why with it’s laidback but powerful groove, euphoric melodies and muted, yet wildly infectious vocal hook. 

Now the mix comes into full flow with a duo of Argentine duos back to back, both also with tracks produced specifically for this compilation. First up, Analog Jungs’ ‘Saturnia’ takes us into orbit with a tight galloping kick and razor sharp shakers underpinned by a swooping bassline, sublime keys and a topline with enough energy to power a city. Fellow countrymen Oliver & Tom take the reins next with ‘Skyscraper’, a stunningly crafted piece that soars effortlessly and drives with intent simultaneously. 

The suspenseful and percussive beauty of ‘Sweet Melancholy’ from Colombia’s Zalvador gels effortlessly into the hypnotic and atmospheric ‘Lockdown’ by Russia’s Rise & Fall. Steve Marx then turns the dial back up to 11 with another Argentinean injection of power from Cordoba’s Ivan Aliaga and his beast of a track ‘Mysterious Stranger’. The penultimate track on this outstanding mix compilation comes from Missouri’s Will DeKeizer who’s masterful and emotive ‘Karma’ demonstrates perfectly why he is a name to watch this coming year. Last but not least by any means, and very fittingly, we head back to Sydney, Australia with Balad and his ethereal opus ‘Day and Night’ to close out this progressive masterclass.

Will DeKeizer - Karma (Original Mix)

Nikko.Z's Dopamine White continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Matias Ocano to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Buenos Aires, the Argentinean artist first appeared on the progressive music scene in November of 2020 with a release on Another Life Music. Backed by remixes from Agustin Pietrocola and Agustin Aluise & Tomas Novelli, it showcased the Argentine's groovy take on the genre perfectly. Now continuing to rise Matias begins the new year with his Dopamine White debut entitled ‘Supersonic'.

Adding nicely to his portfolio, it is the title track ‘Supersonic' which leads the release off. Anchored by a robust kick, its rhythmic core rises quickly, with layers of buoyant percussion and trippy electronics filling in the framework. Dark designs and chugging drive push momentum forward, as pensive overlays blanket the framework. An array of cosmic effects steal the air at opportune moments, eventually leading to a cavernous break. Spanning nearly two minutes in length the centrepiece slowly melts down to a sparse sonic wasteland, where fragmented arps and cinematic swells build anticipation towards to a powerful finale.

The EP's midway point finds Matias exploring pulsating rhythms and tranquil hypnotics with ‘No Opportunity'. Its chunky groove is rough and rugged, characterized by rippling contours and rolling undulation. Distinct and powerful, it provides the perfect foundation for waves of percussion, hopeful pads and trailing effects. The narrative shifts into emotive territory as the breakdown moves gently through tranquil atmospheres and fragmented melodies, before rising into a commanding drop and melodic final movement.

Rounding out the release and continuing the EP's dark, hypnotic ethos is ‘No Time'. Punchy beats, charged rhythms and detailed percussion unite for a rolling rhythmic core. Haunting arps and icy atmospheres then advance the narrative, perfectly setting up an eerie break and commanding drop. It caps off an excellent collection of music from Matias Ocano, who makes an excellent debut on Dopamine White to begin the year.
