put this together one rare morning, waking with my girlfriend at my place. we had the morning off from our usual responsibilities. it felt so dreamy and inspiring that i had to write a song, and this is what resulted. thanks for listening.

still messing around with this thing. it sounds like Elder to me. i did not intend that, but i'm ok with it. i love Elder. this thing means facing up to what you have to do. the old west analogy of the last stand came to mind so i wrote it that way.

I would call this "Bodhisattva Metal."  I sampled Thich Nhat Hahn from one of his singing bowl ceremonies to drive home the theme of this track. i'll quote him in the sample to explain :  "body, speech and mind in perfect oneness, I send my heart along with the sound of this bell. May the hearer awaken from their forgetfulness and transcend the path of anxiety and sorrow. invite the bell to sound." my own freestyle vocals on this track are a heart cry for greater awareness, compassion and wisdom in this world, starting with ME. remember that it starts with YOU. Awaken your love more fully, my friends. it's not always easy, infact it can be downright difficult...hence the metal !

this is my favorite neil young song, off his album fork in the road. i love it so much i decided to cover it. this is the second draft. many thanks to Lammbone and Kelvin and friends for commenting on the first draft. I feel i was able to make the guitars a little more rockin' on this version. thanks for listening.
