Celebrating not just Ryan Elliott’s faith in a vital new generation of producers and DJs, but five years of his own meticulously curated Faith Beat imprint, ‘Have Faith’ is a bold new chapter for the Panorama Bar veteran. Before relocating to Berlin, Elliott cut his teeth spinning Detroit, so he pays it forward on this 34-track compilation, shining a dazzling spotlight on the local scenes and breaking new artists that promise to keep American dance music moving as it lurches towards a new era. When he was based in the US, Elliott realized how distant Europe felt for homegrown artists – not just philosophically, but physically. Two years ago, he set about excavating the US’s underground architecture, pooling contacts and tracks, and urging his wide network of friends to send over their best recommendations. The compilation coalesced organically, and pulls together a diverse canon of producers, offering them the global exposure they urgently need. Eighty percent of the tracks are from up-and-coming US-based artists from the Midwest and beyond, so with the 10th release on his label, Elliott lays down a glimpse of a possible future of underground house and techno that counters the scene’s contemporary Eurocentricity. This music was born in the US, and its evolution might still be in American hands.

Swiss shapeshifter Elsa surfaces on Punctuality for the first time, marking the label’s seventh release with a debut EP that dives deep and swims sideways through an eclectic milieu of club influences.
 
Across the five tracks on Web Glow, there are nods to turn-of-the-century tech house, liquid D&B, broken IDM, psy-laced trance, and modern tek mutations. Subtle wubs ripple under the surface, low-end pressure coils tight, and meticulous sound design binds the tracks into a fully realized vision of Elsa’s forward-thinking sound. Enter the unfolding.

Roza Terenzi steps up to remix “Web Glow,” reanimating the track as a skeletal early-morning stepper—the mood is giving sizzling dubbed-out vocal wisps, pulsing subs, and stripped-back drums. “Groupie” notches up the BPM but keeps things fluid with aquatic atmospherix, jittering FX, and drums that skid out and under rolling basslines.

“Fortune Cookie” flashes uk-tinged tech house with shimmering shards of SFX, resplendent with stuttering kicks, glassy pads, and sultry textures. In our era of post-truth & questioned realities, tin foil hatted folk project their insecurities onto the puppet masters, those holding the strings to us all, the endless psy-op at play. For those opting for psychedelic enlightenment over psychological terror, we find solace in the dance, especially when the music is from heads such as Jeku. 

‘Peyote Trance’ follows the Helsinki based artists journey into the “trip”, where mother nature instead pulls the strings. A sound of trance often not followed, continuing the work of forebearers such as eXquisite CORpsE; where the zap of the synapses in the brain connect with the bubble & squeak of electronics. Creating a sound advanced by nature, yet resonating within the concrete walls us ravers know and love. All 4 tracks harness a kinetic energy that nudges you to ascendance, not desperately reaching for it like the heavy handed aesthetics of the genre can.
