Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

The Twin Dilemma existed around late 1992 to 1994.
Originally formed by myself and Stuart Talbot it went on to include Gina-Sax;  Si-Bass & Mark Rostum [R.I.P] - live drums.

For me , The Twin Dilemma was the next band I was in after AAAK and followed a similar format ……me doing the music alongside a singer/lyricist. There are hints of AAAK in the music, but it was deliberately aimed at being more British sounding and also more commercial. I also had taken to playing the guitar and this took to the forefront in this band.

Tech-wise we were running Cubase V1 on an Atari ST with a Fostex R8 1/4 inch tape machine synced to it - giving us 7 tape tracks to record on. We had an Akai S950 sampler which was used heavily on the drums, There was a Roland JD800 and a Yamaha TG33 as the main synths along with a Yamaha SPX900 multi FX unit. Mixing was done on an analog Tascam 2524 with 2x Alesis 3630 compressors monitored on Yamaha NS10s, recording to DAT.

Hailing from North West England, Stepford Wives are a new voice in alternative rock music, emerging from the DIY underground as one of the UK’s most thrilling bands.

Stepford Wives ‘critical wit, energetic stage presence and compelling blend of psychedelia and pop art-rock sounds like nothing else around’ (Louder than War) -and led to their debut ep ‘All On Me’ being championed by BBC Introducing Manchester, Janice Long (R.I.P) on her BBC Wales National show and Sky Sports John Fendley, leading to  a full appearance on Sky Sports Soccer AM. 
Stepford Wives single ‘So Paranoid’ hit the No 1 spot on several occasions  in 2023 on AMAZING RADIO USA - which is incredible for an emerging  band from North West England. 
If ‘All on Me’ and ‘So Paranoid’   introduced their soul-searching honesty, the new songs take that to anthemic new ground. 
Stepford Wives are the sound of joy/pain and discovery within the fragility of life, love and the eternal search for meaning in the world.
