G. Fauré - Nell

Dutch tenor Stephan Adriaens is best known for his excellent text interpretation and vocal versatility.

Stephan worked in the chorus of Opera Vlaanderen (Belgium) from 2009 until 2022. He was fortunate enough to be able to sing numerous small and middle roles there, and in this capacity he was often noticed by the international press. Memorable performances included his powerfully acted Rodrigo (Otello, Verdi), his musical and strongly present Erster Geharnischter (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart) and his moving Gondoliere (Otello, Rossini).

Also on the oratorio front he has a lot of solo work, mainly in The Netherlands. There he is best known for his interpretation of the Evangelist in Bach's Matthäus Passion and the tenor solo in Mendelssohn's Paulus. He also performed several more modern pieces like Stravinsky's Cantata.

Currently Stephan is employed as a first tenor in the chorus of Den Norske Opera (Norway)
