Virus B is the musical project of Virginie Borriazzi, a composer and a guitarist interested in manipulating the sound. She attempts to create an unlimited universe...

Many of the tracks here were produced using Reaper software. Vocals were recorded with a condenser microphone, and guitars were recorded directly into a sound card with amp emulations. All other sounds were created using virtual synthesizers or real-world sounds that were then processed.

For the past few months, no software has been used in the creative process. Everything is done with two samplers that have sequencers, a groovebox, a digital recorder and sometimes a drum machine. A computer is only used for the final step of production : mastering.

I am a sculptor of algorithmic sound. It is the art of pushing machines to produce the best of themselves — reaching toward a form of augmented humanity. Each track is conceived as a sensory and poetic experience, standing at the border between the real and the virtual, where technology becomes a vector of sensitivity.
