Sonét is the artistic name chosen by Singer-Songwriter, Stephanie Jean. She was born on July 2nd in Broward County Florida. Her mother recalls her performing the ‘Mattress Giant commercial jingle’ at 2 years old, while acting like a professional singer on stage.

As a young teen, Sonét was passionate about singing and would perform at church, and in her school choirs. At the age of 13, she became part of an afterschool program with three (3) other girls and lead by their mentor. They met afterschool most days to listen to Motown songs, experiment with the songwriting process using beats and improvising with lyrics made up on the fly. Each sessions was taped for later review.

She found the songwriting process fascinating and continued to hone her skills on her own. In 2009, Sonét and the girls were invited to the studio where J. Black (now known as Kodak Black) and his friends recorded. Kodak Black was pretty young, but his passion for music was evident. This was the 1st experience they had in a recording studio and found the process immersive. 

After their high school graduation, three (3) of the girls continued to get together and eventually went their separate ways but Sonét stayed the course, even after graduating from college. She writes with every opportunity & looks forward to creating beautiful and impactful music for the world to enjoy.

Currently 18 years into her musical journey, Sonét performs in her South Florida area as well as out of state. She has music that plays well in all situations, among them: online, offline, radio. She released a mixtape project titled 'Verbatim' in 2019 and in 2020 her self titled EP “Sonét”. Her ultimate goal is to “always inspire, write relatable lyrics and have the freedom to create.” Sonét, continues to build her portfolio by working with producers from her hometown of South Florida, while continuing with her education, which will allow her to experience other endeavors. 

Sonét is currently unsigned, but is working really hard to change that in the near future.
