• Trad Vibe records started in Paris in 2005 when two friends and open minded musicians decided to set up a label that would mainly focus on vinyl releases. In times when Serato and other midi controllers dominated the dj booths and when vinyl record sales were experiencing a major downturn, this endevour did not look like an easy bet . "Moar's Remixes", the label's first release allowed Trad Vibe to set foot in the business and to meet people like Grandmaster Dee Nasty, Cortex (Alain Mion), Raashan Ahmad, The Audible Doctor (NYC) amongst many others which resulted in fruitful collaborations.

Ten years and over thirty vinyl releases later we are poud to present you with this compilation that includes unreleased tracks and remixes by Dj Cam, 20syl (C2C/Hocus Pocus), Venice Beach, Lord Funk, Blanka (La fine Equipe / Juke Box Champions) as well as brand new tracks by artists we like among which LS Brigandes (NYC) feat Insight, Moar & Elodie Rama, Dj Suspect & Doc TMK, King Most (San Francisco) and Madjir.

Evolution is our main target and we hope that you will enjoy our new projects as much as we do.

Trad Vibe, c’est l’histoire de deux amis musiciens et passionnés aux oreilles ouvertes. Leurs retrouvailles se font à Paris en 2005 et ils décident de monter un label essentiellement axé sur des sorties vinyle et ceci en pleine période de chute de ventes des disques et avec l'arrivée de Serato et autres contrôleurs midi dans les cabines des djs : autant dire que ce n'était pas gagné d'avance.
La première sortie "Moar’s Remixes" permettra au label de faire les premières rencontres qui s'avéreront fructueuses, dont le Grandmaster Dee Nasty, Cortex (Alain Mion), Raashan Ahmad,  The Audible Doctor (NYC) et bien d'autres .

Elodie Rama & Moar - The End Of Something (The French Evolution LP)

Most fans of the blues believe it was born in the Mississippi delta shortly before 1900. They are definitevely wrong.The blues had its roots in other forms of older black music that are traced to the music of West Africa. In that sense, Mali music constituting the DNA of the blues and the griots can be identified as the direct ancestors of the rural bluesmen.Baba Sissoko is from Mali and he is the last undisputed griot alive.His voice evokes the lost vibe of the deepest and wildest side of west Africa. A magic land that he largely crossed since his childhood in singing and playing with his legendary grandfather Djeli Baba Sissoko. 

With the help of the soulful voices of Djeli Mah  Damba Koroba  and Djana Sissoko, respectively his 78 y.o. mother and his young daughter he recorded  “Three Gees”.

They are the voices of the past, the present and the future living in the twilight zone where the malian roots blooms into a new sound of hope and happiness.

Involved are also Fernando "Bugaloo" Velez on percussions and the grammy winner Corey Harris on slide guitar.

Somebody called it as Bambara Mystic Soul, we dig it and really hope you enjoy listening this album as much as we have enjoyed making it.

Stephanie McKay is a singer, songwriter, musician, and collaborator, hailing from the Bronx, New York City. Her career has spanned over 20 years, during which time she has collaborated with artists including Anthony Hamilton, Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def), Talib Kweli, DJ Spinna, Toshi Reagon and Big lovely, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Katalyst, Tricky, Carl Hancock-Rux, Kelis, and numerous others.

She was featured on the standout hit “Forget Regret” from Roy Hargrove’s Grammy-nominated RH Factor (alongside such luminaries as D’Angelo, Anthony Hamilton, Erykah Badu, Karl Denson, Pino Palladino, and Common) and completed a world tour with keyboardist Amp Fiddler, as well as Drugs, which also included members from the legendary Parliament Funkadelic.
Her debut solo album McKay (2003, Go! Beat/Polydor/Universal) produced by Portishead’s Geoff Barrow and Tim Saul, was released in Europe and garnered major critical acclaim. In the UK, The Independent called the album “…the best soul debut since Macy Gray” and Black Beat referred to McKay as “…the savior we need to drag rhythm back to its roots.” Two singles, “Tell Him” and “Take Me Over” and two videos were released from the album and received heavy rotation on the radio and MTV Europe.
Her follow up album Tell It Like It Is (2008, Pias/Muthas of Invention) was released worldwide and McKay went on to perform at such premiere European festivals as Glastonbury (UK), North Sea Jazz Festival (Netherlands), and Solidays (France) as well as two national tours in Australia (with Amp Fiddler and Katalyst) and an unprecedented seven-night stand in Greece.
Equally at home on the stage or in the studio, Stephanie performs regularly in the Northeastern United States and Europe, and is a frequent guest vocalist with collaborators including her husband Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Boca 45, and others.

After a multi-year hiatus, Stephanie returns with a new collaboration with New York based band Light Blue Movers with a track entitled "Vahana". Stephanie is presently an artist in residence at the Public theatre as part of Joe's pub PUBCLUB 2106. She is in the studio recording her new solo album which will be released fall of 2016.

Day into night is a collab with Austraiian Dj and producer Dj Katalyst. He is a longtime collaborator and produced tunes on my first album Mckay as well as remixes of Jackson avenue one of my most popular tunes on my second album Tell it like it is. Enjoy!
