This Song is about staying out of an abusive or toxic relationship, and moving on to give your self a second chance at starting over.  I wrote this with Mark Oliverius in Nashville.  Second Chances is the title of my E-Book which is on my Fly Away Album.  My book is the real life story of my life, surviving domestic violence, meeting my current husband and finding forgiveness, love & hope.  I also tell my husband's story, and how he survived being crushed in a gold mine & how he escaped a bad marriage to find second chances, and how God brought us together with 3 kids each, then blessed us with our own son.

03 Second Chances

This was a song Tommy Sims had sitting on his back burner with  an idea, a melody and a chorus.  I wrote the lyrics and verses, finished the chorus, and this is what we wrote!  This is a great catchy track. Rob James sings back-up.  Grant Hall added some sound effects to make it more of a 'dance' track.  This song is part of my Fly Away album, a positive, uplifting song about finding real love.  

04 It'll Be Alright

This was a song I co-wrote with Phil Swann in Santa Monica, who is a staff writer with Dreamworks records.  I wrote the lyrics, and Phil helped me come up with a melody.  I remember sleeping in my car, walking along the beach-a Canadian girl in territory I had never been.  Recorded track in Nashville, I have always felt this track belongs on a film or commercial.  It is very catchy, comparing the shivers & first 'sparks' of love with the fantasies of dreaming-and how both can be real. This is a clever play on words, and one of my favourite songs.  

12 When I'm Dreaming

This song is about anyone's 'ex' who was abusive-and how the woman couldn't stay, or enable him anymore.  She had to leave so he could grow, and learn to walk on his own, and solve his own issues without dragging her into them.  It is a painful song, but in the lyrics I use the phrase, 'I'll Love you more, and from a distance-I guess I'll leave you know to fight your one man war'.  It is about loving someone enough to let them go-and hope they will be ok.  This is a co-write with Tommy Sims.  Very theatrical-I feel would be great in a film.

05 Dead - Man Walking

I grew up listening to Olivia Newton John-when Tommy Sims was trying to figure out what 'style' of music to write with me-and who I was an an artist-he looked at me and said, 'You remind me of Olivia Newton John'-as he played bass with her.  I told him I grew up learning to sing with her vinyl albums, as we only had a record player, and no real radio stations in my home.  So, we decided to re-make an Olivia song.  This is my version-and it ties into my E-Book and album.  

07 Would A Little More Love

This is a song my good friend, Mark Wilms wrote.  I adjusted the lyrics to fit my story, E-book/album.  Mark was 'Benny' on the road with BjornAgain (ABBA tribute band)and I played 'Agnetha'.  He was dating a gal who escaped an abusive relationship, and I had also been an abused woman.  I knew that experience too well.  'Oh Angie' is a song asking the 'victim' of abuse to hold on-to keep hoping.  To tell that person you love them, and you are there for them.  To hope they listen to you, and reach out to you before they are hurt beyond repair.  Angie is the woman we all know behind the glass wall.  The woman suffering at the hands of violence.  We all know an Angie.  We need to shed the light on violence, and stop abuse.  Victims caught in the cycle are hiding their shameful secrets behind closed doors.  All we can do is love them, and hope they choose to listen to us, and leave.  This song is telling the victim God has not forgotten you, and neither have I.  Most victims don't love themselves enough to leave.  This song is one of hope, asking Angie to realize she is loved, and I, her friend, has been down that road, and I want her to know she is loved, and that God will not let her go if she will choose to listen and leave.  

06 Oh Angie

This song is very well written.  It is about forgiveness, and the healing it brings.  It's about not judging one sin as greater than another.  This song is about one person's evil deed not being up to us to critique-but up to God.   Pat & Pete Luboff are the writers, from Nashville.  I met them, and I believe this song sums up all of us-bad, good, evil, righteous-being human, and forgiveness is a burden we must bear to move forward in our lives.   

09 Burden Of Love

This song was a great tune I found in Nashville.  I love how 'free' this song is-to let go of the past, the present, the problems-and just ENJOY life.  To love life to the fullest!!!  Great songwriter's on this track. To LOVE the people in your life with all goodness, faith and a positive spirit!  To FLY ANYWAY!!!  TODAY!!!

10 Today (Fly Anyway)

This song is another great song out of Nashville-speaks about forgiveness, letting go, getting rid of anger & resentment-and having TRUE inner peace.  To be content, forgive past mistakes, and move forward with a clean soul.

11 Peace With The World

This is my title track. I LOVE this song, as Fly Away is an upbeat, uptempo song about not listening to negative people-not allowing negative things to impact you.  Instead of regretting the past, Flying way with a bright new future!  

13 Fly Away

This track was written by Jason McCoy & Denny Carr, however, I changed the lyrics to fit my story.  This is about finding REAL love-paradise in the arms of real love.  The angels brought together two people who are soul mates.
