I wrote this song in a Karachi hotel room as I grappled with the tension between fidelity to myself vs to someone else. It spilled out in one evening, as if unassisted, and brought the catharsis that only music brings.

The other day I stumbled upon this incredible song by David Gray after years without hearing it and it grabbed me by the gut. I felt its rawness and its melancholy as if they were my own. And I realised, I’ve been mistaken all these years thinking he was singing “This is loving at last”. The true lyrics feel even more appropriate for me right now. Funny how the universe works like that. 

I feel you David. I hope it did last.
