The song was inspired by the joyful moments my sister and I had playing with our childhood friend, Ashley, when we were around 9 or 10. It speaks of some of the beauty of that time of our lives, such as feeling free to be ourselves, being present, enjoying the wonders of life and the world, and stepping into the power of our joy.

Our friend passed away in high school from cancer. This song also speaks of the power of grief, both over our friend and the joy, belonging, authenticity, and wonder of childhood.

I wrote this track about not feeling seen, valued, and appreciated for who you are. Feeling like you are 'outside of the box'. However, this song is all about celebrating who you are in your uniqueness with others who are also unique - you each have a gift to share with the world in all your unique and beautiful glory. This song also speaks about living for the moment, for when you live your life and it's precious moments with joy, fullness, and life, you are gifting that to everyone.
