I’ve been through nights so long they felt like whole lifetimes. The kind where silence presses against your chest and the dark makes you feel like you’re the only person left in the world. I thought I’d learned to live with it. I thought I had to.
Then there was you. You saw straight through the version of me I’d built to survive. You didn’t flinch at the cracks — you traced them like they were part of the design. I didn’t know it was possible to feel seen and safe at the same time.
I don’t pretend this will last forever. Nothing ever does. But maybe that’s why every moment with you feels heavy and light all at once — like I’m holding something too precious to set down, even for a second. If this is only now, then I’ll take now over nothing. I’ll take every second you’ll give me.
I want you to know that I’ve been through hell, and you’ve been the first person to make me believe I wasn’t supposed to stay there. You’ve been the light in nights I thought would never end. And if all I have is this moment, I’ll still give you everything.
