Got an opportunity to close out the evening at this new beach club at Lamai Beach after asking if the decks were free for the night. Had about 90 mins to prepare some ideas & went with a mostly progressive house mix, with progresses in energy level. Had a backdrop of dancers juggling firesticks, lighting up the shoreline with their moves along with my mixing.

if you're thinking of getting into making your own mixes, just go for it. if you already listen to a lot of music and know what you like then that is already a strong beginning. the journey of learning & finding what tracks work together is the joy. if people flock to your sound then that's a bonus but it must firstly be about crafting something that matters to you and not about what people will think or judge or think of you. the mixing part is not the key challenge, it's finding that sequence of tracks that represents the idea that you had and blending them at the moments that sustain or build the energy and musical storytelling. or just keep this in mind if you're listening to any of the mixes I push out. happy to discuss further on any of this ✌🏻
