Sonatina for Flute and Piano No. 9 in C-Minor

In this piece the newly invented string instruments are playing in combination with flute, soprano voice and piano. The strings are being stretched between the beams of the mezzanine of the building and also hanging from the ceiling beams with heavy weights on them. The hanging strings surround the audience and musicians. A very special building HET VEEM (Van Diemenstraat 410, 1013 CR Amsterdam) - former warehouse, where the piece was premiered, inspired us to create these instruments and this composition. The concert was performed as a part of Toetsdestijds Concerten Series.

Subatomic Changes EP is a journey into the quantum realm of matter in a few dimensions, We are off to the mission to observe and allow these transformations to happen. The Original composition " Subatomic Changes" is fully orchestral and the other five underscores in this EP with different moods and style are being transformed smoothly over and over for the several parts of this adventure. 

Iman Deeper's love of house music began in secret. Growing up in the busy streets of Tehran, where production and performance of non-traditional music was underground by necessity, Iman soon left Iran to search for his place in the musical world. His journey took him to Rome, where he developed and honed the skills he needed to recreate the sounds of his dreams. Here, he performed under the moniker La Roca, until he moved to his current home base, Berlin, the land of love and house & techno music. 

Having performed in venues all across Germany, and composed songs for high-profile customers like Audi Deutschland and Vice Magazine, Iman Deeper sees 2021 as a year of opportunity and productivity. This year, Iman is launching his new imprint, Deed Music, to be the home for not only his own music but for the beautiful community of talented, up-and-coming artists from across the electronic genres.

Iman Deeper - Welcoming Chamber

palindrome is the alter-ego of bay area breakbeat&glitch-hop DJJD, who has been twisting faces and nodding headz for fans at undergrounds and clubs here since 2006.  Always a lover of the ambient and downtempo worlds as well, palindrome is committed to immersing the senses with atmosphere across a range of tempos and feels.  palindrome's dj sets draw on sounds and artists from around the world, while his original productions also traverse a wide set of genres, from Ambient to Jungle, and some cuts that defy easy classification like the 11+ minute epic "Doris's Day" written for a friend's new baby, Doris, as the imagined soundtrack to her first journey outside walking on two feet.

I have written for a variety of ensembles that include instruments as diverse as the marimba, the oboe, and the Theremin. I am conversant with harmony from the common practice period as well as with more modern developments.

Education

Educated as an electrical engineer, I received my BSEE in 1985 and have worked almost entirely for professional and consumer audio electronics manufacturers in the Boston area for thirty years, enabling me to combine my skill in circuit design with my love of music.

While I am a largely self-taught musician, I have taken composition lessons with Thomas Benjamin during my studies at Peabody Conservatory and am currently studying with composer Douglas Helvering. 

Film

My composition Road Side Reverie is featured as the soundtrack of a short film, Road Trip Through America, that is archived in the Moving Image Research Collection at the University of South Carolina. 

Performances

In September of 2014, at the Essex Street Pedestrian Mall in Salem, Massachusetts, at an event sponsored by the Theatre of Words & Music, my Sonatinas for Flute and Piano Nos. 6, 7, and 9 were performed by flautist Sandra McCahill and pianist Leonard Scoggin.

In January, 2015, at Wellspring Sound in Acton, Massachusetts, Sandra McCahill and Leonard Scoggin recorded my Sonatinas for Flute and Piano Nos. 6, 7, and 9.
