My passion for music started at a very young age. The mixture of different instruments and beats brought together to create different sounds and rhythms have continued to hold my interest to this day. So much so that as of 1995 I decided to become a DJ.I was recognized as DJ Stephen Skillz for my talents starting out in functions such as high school dances and fraternity parties at universities. After feeling comfortable enough I decided to try something a little more challenging….like the nightlife in L.A.I succeeded in doing so and worked the Hard House scene.



I felt I was accomplishing my dreams as a DJ, but felt I needed something else… as if something was missing in my life. After much thinking and consideration I knew what I wanted and needed to do. In 1999 I decided to join the Army and serve my country in a more meaningful way. I served and became disciplined in my life in many ways. I fulfilled my duties as a soldier but once again I was reminded of the life I left behind when asked to DJ for all the soldiers on the post. I knew then that I couldn’t escape my passion for music.

I served my term as a soldier of the United States Army…and now I’m back! Back to the L.A. night life scene. As a young Latino I want to introduce and add some spice to the latest and hottest trends out there and those to have yet still be discovered. I’ve traveled throughout the world and have come across different and unique sounds and styles of music in which I’d like to incorporate with some of today’s music.  With that being said, remember my name DJ Stephen Skillz because one day I have yet to accomplish owning a few clubs that will describe me as a whole which will exhibit a Latin Sabor to the “American” culture.
