The new dirtybird compilation is loaded with 11 great tunes I have been collecting for over 6 months. Most notably, the Shiba San "OKAY" record has absolutely been destroying every dance floor known to man. We have lots of big birds like Justin Martin, Catz ‘N Dogz & Justin Jay on this, plus a ton of great newcomers and friends making appearances.

The dirtybird BBQ was founded as a small get together in Golden Gate Park thirteen years ago. We've had the same core line-ups and even the same chef, Grillson, since the beginning.  But three years ago, the free party in the park got too big and our permit was pulled.  The city of San Francisco could no longer handle the amount of people showing up to the event.  

Ever since then we have been trying to think of way to bring back the vibe of the BBQ park party. This year we finally put together a team that is able to take the BBQ party all across North America and Europe. We will be starting in Miami and ending in San Francisco so make sure to come grill and chill with us sometime this year. This compilation is a celebration of the O.G. dirtybird BBQ vibe.   I hope you enjoy the music.

On top of which, recent radio support has come from the likes of Toddla T, Zane Lowe, Kissy Sellout and the Wideboys.
With a constant flow of releases and remixes coming, as well as a solid calendar of touring, Low Steppa will be stepping things up yet another level…

Deep bass rumbles in the dirtybird jungle as Justin Jay swathes into the fray once again with yet another impeccable collection of tracks. From acid house foundations to the sonic semiotics of Detroit - his ability to fuse a timeless, full-bodied dancefloor blend is remarkable. The Instincts EP follows up a notable appearance on VonStrokes Urban Animal remix album and continues Justin's steady rise as he finishes his college degree while also interning at the dirtybird head office!

"Analysis Paralysis" is a hypnosis homage: percussive elements strip and tease amid the mix while a sharp, sinewy synth line twists and turns itself inside out.  All the while a deep, almost dub-level bassline bubbles and bobs over the concrete kicks.  

"Denial," done in tandem with PILO, is a sludgier, loopy beast that struts with a bi-polar moodiness. Both reflective and growling the fine balance is kept in check between the purring metallic SFX and human vocal touches. 

 "Instincts" closes the show with bleepy gusto.  Instantly infectious thanks to its sturdy rhythmic clap, were soon dropped into a bold, bulbous bass riff that smoulders and shimmers with 808 finesse.

Timeless, full-bodied and unarguably funky: Justin Jay just keeps on delivering. Press play and get busy.

Part two of the massive dirtybird players compilation is here. This time we feature some of the labels biggest Europe based acts Eats Everything & Catz n Dogz along with some European newcomers GoldFFInch, Friend Within & 6 Stroke.  In addition we still got that old school Cali crew repping with Leroy Peppers and Claude VonStroke as well as our newest addition Mark Starr from Florida.

This half of the comp goes all the way from booty bass to deep house to future dubstep and represents the various styles and directions of the label. Again, we like to keep the words short and sweet and let the music do the talking.
