Les Misérables Medley 2014

This musical poem is based on Sandi Thom's song of the same name.

It is a highly conspiratorial composition, inspired by Douglas Adams' "Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy".

I'm a Human Being

This song is dedicated to the person who I should describe as my first girlfriend (although our time together was so short and tumultuous that we didn't discuss this), Ronda Prunty.

She lies over the ocean - in the United States. I wrote another song for her a while ago, called "The Fugitive".

This is a musical poem about the super-injunctions of Ryan Giggs and John Terry. Both may have had affairs with former Big Brother contestant Imogen Thomas.

Giggs' alleged indiscretion with Imogen is well known, but The Independent revealed that Terry also has a super-injunction, and the 5 June 2011 edition of the BBC1 programme "The Big Questions" revealed that Imogen is the subject of a different superinjunction with another footballer.

Add 2 and 2 together and make 4 or 5!

Golden Stone

A song inspired (with a bit of plagiarism) from the beautifully sung but slightly flawed Latin Quarter song "No Rope As Long As Time" (their first single - it made the top 100 but not top 40 in the UK).

It is about freedom in South Africa, which (despite the end of apartheid) the black masses don't yet really have. There are ongoing struggles, but the times they are a-changing, finally the tables have started to turn - we're talking about a revolution!

A song based on a Daily Mirror front page headline, "Three Lies On His Shirt", about then England captain and Chelsea player John Terry. Wayne Bridge, eat your heart out!

A song about Manchester City, "the richest team the world has ever seen".

I sang it at a Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) viewing of the derby match between Man United and Man City, when Paul Scholes scored in injury time with 18 seconds to go, to win the match 1-0 for United! It went down well.

This song was adapted, to be relevant to the present day, from the song with the same name from "Billy Elliot", the musical by Steve Wallis (Socialist Steve), and sung by Steve and Leanne, a singing teacher, with Andy Kelly playing the keyboard. It was performed as part of Musical Madness 2, organised by the Back Door Music Project, in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, on 23 April 2013.
