Carl Hopkins on fiddle, Joey McKenzie on Guitar recorded on the campground outside of the Hopkins' camper on June 17th in Weiser, Idaho at the National Old Time Fiddle contest. Rubber Dolly was a request by Pete Martin, heard in the intro.

This is a comparison test between 3 microphones from the 1930's recording from a distance of about 3 feet from the performers. First is the STC4017, then the STC4021 and finally the Siemens SM3. No EQ has been applied to these sample recordings. with Sir Rex Gillentine on his Epiphone Texan & Gibson Super 400 CES (overdubbed) and Sir Jerry Thomasson on his Martin 018T :) - Rex & myself weren't thrilled with the electric guitar tone that made it to the record - but listening now, it adds a cool retro sound to those wonderful lines Rex is playing! And then there's Jerry :))) I feel so blessed and fortunate to have made music with these legends
