Jean-Michel Jarre & Little Boots - If..! (Stephen Webster Remix)

My entry for the Talenthouse competition to remix Of Monster And Men's 'Wolves Without Teeth', from their album 'Beneath The Skin'.

For this remix I tried to put an electronic spin on the acoustic elements of the original. Having said that, I didn't want to remix the original into an EDM or pop track. I really liked a Chillwave vibe with the original's vocal lines, so that was ultimately the style I settled on. I wanted to keep some of the acoustic sounds of the original in keeping with the band's own style, whilst introducing more euphoric electronic elements to take the sound in a different direction. I felt the latter really fit well with Raggi and Nanna's voices and I hope you like the result.

Originally written for a Dungeons and Dragons gaming group. The original brief was to write a loop that would sound as if played in a Dwarven temple. Thus, male choir, anvils, deep drums and brass feature prominently throughout.

As a film composer, my recent credits include the music to the video game 'Don't Shoot Yourself!', out now on iOS devices courtesy of Ayopa Games, as well as an orchestrator on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, at one point the highest-selling video game of all time. Stephen also wrote the music to the short films 'Quiet' and 'Machinehead' that, together, won awards at three film festivals and were screened at a combined total of over 25 film festivals worldwide, including the New York International Film Festival and the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival. My score for the web-series 'Wallflowers' garnered me two nominations for 'Best Music' from the San Francisco Web Festival and the Snobby Robot 2014 Awards.
